Reaction to the dress was mixed. Let's highlight a few main points.

• Many media outlets tried to understand what exactly the artist wanted to show with her original appearance. As a result, the options became a protest against fashion, the manifestation of feminism, aging, decay. Another option is that the dress did not have any message, but was simply used to increase ratings.
• Famous chefs have noted that people forget what real meat looks like because they buy it neatly wrapped in packaging in supermarkets.
• Animal rights activists, as expected, criticized the singer, claiming the cruelty of this image.

Fate of the dress

After the ceremony, the outfit was handed over to a famous taxidermist in order to preserve the dress. When Gaga performed at two TV events, the meat was frozen. At the same time, taxidermist S. Vigilato noted that it gradually began to decompose due to freezing and has characteristic signs and smell.

The dress was carefully treated with special compounds and restored to its original appearance. As a result, it was transferred to the museum, where the outfit was supposed to be stored.

Most likely, the dress will be put up for auction, and the proceeds will go to charity.

It is worth noting that in 2012 the singer again appeared in a meat image. Moreover, the photo shoot presented to the public caused no less serious excitement. A presentation of the new image took place in Tokyo, where the singer held a concert to promote the new album. Photos of a unique image appeared on the celebrity microblog.

The new dress was a tulip skirt complemented by a bustier. But the greater shock was caused not by the outfit itself, but by the scenery surrounding the singer. The photo showed carcasses of cows that were hung on special hooks. Gaga herself seemed to also be hanging on one of them, demonstrating the image of a suspended piece of meat. About once every decade, a legendary artist appears in the world, who in a special way influences the thoughts and feelings of millions of people, attracting everyone's attention. Lady Gaga is one such artist.

At the Grammys she “hatched” from a fake egg, at the VMAs she sang while hanging from a bloody rope, and walked along the red carpet in a dress made of raw meat. Images of Lady Gaga can shock, bewilder, inspire admiration or disgust, but it is impossible to deny that there is definitely something about this petite woman.

Lady Gaga's real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. She inherited her Italian roots and love of music from her father, who in his youth played guitar in coastal clubs and was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen.

Lady Gaga began playing the piano at the age of four, and at thirteen she already wrote her first song. As the star herself later said in an interview: “As a child, I put on all my mother’s pearls, stood on the very top step of the stairs in our house and sang at the top of my voice, feeling like Whitney Houston in Bodyguard, no less!”

After graduating from high school, Stephanie became a student at New York's famous Tisch School of the Arts. At the same time, the future pop princess began performing on the theater and club stages.

Club life captured Gaga so much that at the age of 19 she left college to build her musical career. At the time, she was performing on the Upper East Side, playing her own songs on a synthesizer. She never perceived music only in the form of text and accompaniment. Lady Gaga always dreamed of creating a complete picture - a performance, a theatrical performance with scenery and light.

Ever since school, Stephanie loved to dress beautifully. While her peers were crazy about the normcore of the 90s and universally wore wide jeans with sneakers, their classmate preferred feminine skirts and dresses, which is why she was repeatedly bullied among her peers.

For her stage appearances in clubs, Lady Gaga bought everything shiny in the mass market, and then, armed with a glue gun and tweezers, she re-glued rhinestones onto her costumes.

A new round in the singer’s career occurred when she met the outrageous DJ Lady Starlight. They began to work together, turning their performances into real shows: in between songs they danced on tables to heavy metal music in rhinestone bikinis, setting fire to hairspray. The girls had a very simple goal: “Even if no one likes our work, they will definitely remember us!”

Did the end justify the means then? And how!

In 2008, the young composer Lady Gaga signed a contract with a production label and began writing songs for Britney Spears, the Pussycat Dolls and Fergie, and a year later began recording her own album.

In a short time, Gaga's debut album won Best Dance Album at the Grammys, and later won the award for Best International Album at the Brit Awards. By April 2010, over a BILLION people had watched Lady Gaga's videos on YouTube.

How did this happen? Of course, thanks to the singer’s irrepressible talent as an author and performer. It all started with the Poker Face video in 2009, where Gaga appeared before the public as a platinum blonde in a latex suit decorated with origami.

That same year, thick bangs and a hair bow became the most desired hairstyle for girls around the world.

By the end of 2009, the singer’s outfits became even bolder and more outrageous. A whole team of creative stylists began working with her. BDSM images, a dress made of hair, glass, a jacket over a naked body and a suit made of plush toys left no one indifferent. Great attention was paid to accessories. Glasses, hats and famous boots on a giant platform from Alexander McQueen...the whole world started talking about Lady Gaga.

Another year later, the singer’s outfits became not just clothes, but real objects of modern art, stepping beyond the boundaries of “normality.” I've never seen such looks on anyone on the red carpet before.

The culmination occurred on September 12, 2010 at the MTV Video Music Awards, where Gaga appeared in her famous meat dress. That night, as she gave her acceptance speech, she said, “I never thought I'd ask Cher to hold my meat purse :-).”

Later, in an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga recalled that by the end of the evening, the meat began to smell, and the stars began to avoid her, which was only to her advantage, since she does not really like communicating with celebrities.

In 2011, with the light hand of the Council of Fashion Designers of the United States, Lady Gaga received her first “Style Icon” award and continued to shock the public with her outfits.

In 2013, due to wearing extra-high platform shoes for a long time, the singer had severe joint inflammation, which is why she even had to undergo surgery. Since then, doctors have banned wearing not only my favorite McQueen shoes, but also any other high-heeled shoes in general.

And in this image, the star appeared at the presentation of a doll created in her own image - at some point, the diva’s fans were confused and were not immediately able to distinguish their favorite from the copy in the photo.

Lady Gaga also boasts an image that can be dubbed the “glamorous Alien”...

... and a slightly scary version of the clothing of women of the East (the message associated with fur tails, to be honest, is difficult to understand).

Sometimes even Lady Gaga gets tired of complex costumes. Then the star simply puts on his favorite set of underwear, a “vampire cloak” with a fur collar and... glues on a mustache!
