Interesting slippers with 2 knitting needles with a description. How to knit slippers? Knitted slippers with patterns and descriptions for beginners. Simple knitted slippers with felt soles

Slippers knitted using a wide variety of patterns (including two knitting needles) are an excellent alternative to indoor shoes for children and adults, as well as a touching, sincere, warm hand-made gift for loved ones.

Even the most inexperienced craftswomen, familiar only with the basics of knitting, can make this useful element of their home wardrobe; to do this, they just need to choose a suitable model with a description of the work and strictly follow the recommendations.

Knitted slippers must be not only beautiful and warm, but also comfortable to wear, otherwise they will not be able to fully please their owner.

The comfort of a knitted product largely depends on the yarn, so when choosing it you need to take into account some important nuances:

  1. To make the product as warm as possible, it is important to pay attention to yarn composition. Experienced knitters recommend choosing natural wool and wool blend threads for socks and slippers. Products made from them are very warm, breathable, and also the most durable.
  2. The second important parameter is yarn thickness. If you choose a thin thread, the slippers will not be warm; if the yarn is too thick, the product may not be very comfortable to wear. The best option is threads of medium thickness: 200-300 m / 100 g. You can also take thinner yarn, but in this case knit the product in 2-3 folds of thread.
  3. If slippers are going to be knitted for a child, you should give preference to a special one. children's yarn, because it is hypoallergenic, has a safe composition and is very pleasant to the touch.
  4. Choice product colors always remains up to the craftswoman, but if the slippers will be knitted from various leftover yarns, it is very important that they not only match in color, but also be approximately the same thickness and texture. If this simple rule is not followed, the knitted fabric may turn out uneven and sloppy.

What sole to choose (make) for slippers

The soles of slippers can be made of various materials. The simplest and most common option is a sole knitted from the same or denser yarn as the slippers.

For strength, many needlewomen add another thread to the main thread when knitting it.

If a more wear-resistant option is required, the sole can be made of felt or thick leather. Its shape is easiest to cut out using a suitable insole. The sole can be made separately and then tied or sewn to the finished product.

Knitting needles

To knit socks and slippers, craftswomen use special stocking needles, which are sold in the form of a set of 5 pieces. They differ in the material of manufacture (metal, wood, plastic) and diameter (marked with numbers).

The material from which the knitting needles are made is not fundamentally important, it is a matter of personal preference.

The number of knitting needles is selected depending on the nature of the product and the thickness of the selected threads. For knitting slippers and socks, it is recommended that the diameter of the knitting needles approximately coincides with the thickness of the thread; in this case, knitting will be as comfortable as possible, and the fabric will be dense, even and beautiful. For example, for yarn 250-300 m/100 g, knitting needles No. 2.5-3 are optimal.

Additional accessories for knitting slippers

In addition to yarn and knitting needles, when creating knitted shoes you may need:

  • knitting markers (special plastic hooks used to highlight stitches during calculations);
  • hook (with its help it is convenient to hide the “tails” of cut threads, as well as to tie the edges of finished products);
  • thick needle with a wide eye (for sewing products).

All of these knitting supplies can be purchased at craft stores along with yarn and knitting needles. Women's and children's slippers, knitted by hand, can be complemented with accessories that will make the item more interesting, beautiful and unique in its own way.

For this purpose use:

  • decorative buttons;
  • beads;
  • crocheted flowers;
  • bows and ribbons;
  • pompoms, etc.

Slippers with two knitting needles made of rectangle

This original model of slippers is reminiscent of oriental shoes in appearance, and it is very easy to knit it on two knitting needles, because while working you don’t even need to make any increases or decreases according to the pattern. The base is a rectangle knitted in garter stitch (all rows are performed only with knit stitches).

Such tracks made from sectionally dyed yarn look most impressive., but you can knit them from plain threads and from multi-colored leftovers.

To work you will need:

  • Yarn (250 m/100g) – 1 skein.
  • Knitting needles No. 3.
  • Needle.
  • Hook.

Sequence of work

Execution:

  1. First of all, they perform calculations so as not to make a mistake with the size of the slippers. Measure the length of the foot, multiply by 2 - this is the required width of the rectangle. From the yarn you like, knit a test sample of 10 stitches, measure it and calculate the required number of loops for the resulting width.
  2. Based on the resulting calculations, cast on the loops on the knitting needles, make a rectangle 12 cm high with garter stitch. Close the loops, use a hook to process the top in any convenient way - columns, picots or “shells”.
  3. Fold the rectangle in half, form a toe by folding the edges of the product into a cone shape. Sew along the sole line.

Men's knitted moccasin slippers

Men's slippers, reminiscent of moccasins, are knitted on two needles according to the given pattern quite easily and quickly, but at the same time they look very original. The calculations given correspond to sizes 40-41. The entire product is made in simple garter stitch, that is, in all rows the loops are always knitted only with knit stitches.

To make them you will need:

  • Medium thickness yarn – 80 g.
  • Knitting needles No. 3.
  • Hook for decorative processing.

Slippers with two knitting needles without seam

The most comfortable for adults and children are socks and slippers knitted on two knitting needles using a seamless pattern: they fit snugly to the foot without causing discomfort when worn. Seamless slippers are also beneficial because they can be worn not only at home, but also worn under shoes in cold weather.

The master class presents calculations for foot sizes 36-38.

Prepare materials:

  • Yarn (250 m/100g) – 1 skein of main color, 50 g of finishing yarn in contrasting color;
  • Knitting needles No. 3.

Sequence of work

Execution:

  • The main yarn is cast on 47 sts on knitting needles. Rows 1-6 are performed with a standard elastic band (chrome, 1 sp, 1 st).
  • Find and mark the center (24th stitch) with a knitting marker. Continue working with the finishing thread: chrome, *1 sp, 1 lp, 1 sp, 1 st transferred to a knitting needle (do not knit, thread at work) * - then repeat from * to * to the center. A yarn over is made in front of the marked loop, the central one is removed, another yarn over is made, and the row is completed by analogy with the first half. The wrong side must be knitted the way the pattern looks, the removed loops are also transferred (not knitted), the thread is left before work. Yarn overs are also made before and after the central loop, while the yarn overs from the previous knit row are knitted with a crossed knit stitch.
  • Switch to the main yarn again: chrome, * 1 i.p., 1 l.p. move (thread at work), 1 and. p., 1 l. p. * - repeat from * to * to the center. The central loop is knitted, and yarn overs are also made before and after it. Knit to the end of the row according to the same pattern. The purl row is performed in the same way as the previous one.
  • According to the described principle, 14 subsequent rows are repeated, alternating the main and finishing threads.
  • Proceed to knitting the sole: count off the middle 15 stitches and mark with markers. Knit the main yarn with an elastic band according to the pattern up to the central 15 stitches. They are also knitted with an elastic band, the outermost loop and the first of the side row are knitted at the same time. The work is unfolding. Knit 14 stitches according to the pattern, the outermost loop is knitted simultaneously with the first from the side row, then the work needs to be unfolded again. Continue knitting according to this principle, in the end only 15 stitches should remain on the knitting needles.
  • Heel. On both sides of the central 15 sts, 16 sts are picked up from the edge stitches. The heel is formed according to the same principle as the sole, i.e. you need to knit two loops at the same time from each edge until only 15 stitches remain on the knitting needles again. Close the loops. Using a hook, hide the tails of the cut threads, decorate as desired.

Children's slippers with two spokes

In winter and autumn, it is especially important to ensure that children’s feet are always warm – both at home and outside. Calculations are given for slippers for a child up to one year.

For knitting you will need:

  • Children's wool or acrylic yarn - 60 g of the main color, 30 g of another color for finishing.
  • Knitting needles No. 3.
  • Hook.

Sequence of work

Execution:

You can take any of the above patterns for knitting slippers on two knitting needles as the basis for your work, and vary the size depending on your needs, adding or subtracting the number of loops and rows.

The same can be said about the design of knitted slippers: color solutions, variations on patterns and decor have no restrictions. Knitting is a creative process that brings not only practical benefits, but also pleasure.

Yarn. What do you need to know?

Varieties of yarn

  1. Natural
  • cotton

Pros: yarn, easy to work with; wide range of colors
Cons: long drying time after washing; If the washing temperature is incorrect, the product may “shrink”

Pros: yarn, easy to work with; quick drying after washing
Cons: the color range is limited to natural shades; If the washing temperature is incorrect, the product may “shrink”

  • wool

Pros: the yarn is warm; large selection of colors and types
Disadvantages: the yarn is very finicky in subsequent care; if the washing temperature is incorrect, the product may “shrink”; if dried/ironed incorrectly, it may stretch; often irritates the skin and can cause allergic reactions (especially in children); wears out quickly with active wear

  1. Mixed

Combines the best properties of natural and artificial materials

  1. Artificial
  • polyester
  • acrylic

Pros: good selection of colors; the yarn is easy to work with; good heat capacity (especially acrylic)
Cons: yarn can become electrified; characterized by poor hygroscopicity; during wear, so-called “coils” may appear on the product; some note the characteristic “creaking” of the yarn

Knitting needles and crochet hook. How to choose the tool number?

  1. For threads less than 4 mm thick, the needle thickness should be 1 mm larger. For example, the thickness of the yarn in the figure is 1 mm, the knitting needles are 2 mm
  2. For threads with a thickness of more than 4 mm, the thickness of the knitting needles should be 1.5-2 mm larger. For 3mm thick yarn, the best working needles are 6mm needles.

  1. If you are going to knit a voluminous pattern with braids (plaits), the size of the knitting needles should be another 0.5 mm larger
  2. An openwork pattern or a pattern with dropped loops requires knitting needles 0.5 mm smaller than expected based on the thickness of the yarn

A small reminder on choosing the thickness of yarn and knitting needles is presented in the infographic below

The hook is selected by analogy with knitting needles

Important: the tool number corresponds to its thickness. For example, No. 2.5 means that the thickness of the knitting needles/hook is 2.5 mm

Basic knitting techniques for knitting needles

  1. The simplest set of knitting stitches

Advice. If you are working with thin yarn, it is better to make a cast on 2 knitting needles, so the edge will be more elastic

  • To calculate the length of the free end of the thread for a set of loops in centimeters, multiply the number of loops in the description by 2
  • Make a loop in any way convenient for you and put it on knitting needles folded together. Tighten the loop a little
  • Thread the threads around the thumb and index fingers of your left hand. The free end of the thread should be on the thumb, the thread from the ball should be on the index finger. Secure the threads by pressing them against your palm with your free fingers.
  • Hold the loop on the knitting needles with the index finger of your right hand
  1. Hook the thread lying around your thumb with a knitting needle (movement 1 with the red dotted line in the diagram)
  2. Guide the knitting needle with the thread hooked on the left side of the index finger (movement 2 by the dotted line in the diagram)
  3. Make a knitting movement from top to bottom → from right to left → under the thread on the left of your thumb. Then slip the yarn off your thumb, forming a loop on the needle (movement 3 with the dotted line in the diagram). Cast on the required number of stitches

Beautiful knitted slippers, description

Trendy patchwork style slippers will definitely please and warm the people you love. The knitting technique is very simple and even beginner knitters can do it.

In addition, the pattern “Squares knitted diagonally” is suitable not only for knitting slippers, but also for making blankets or decorative pillows

A short introduction before work

  1. Determine your foot length. The photo below will tell you how to do this correctly.

  1. The diagonal of the base square should be equal to ½ the length of the foot. For example, for a foot with shoe size 37 and a foot length of 22.6-23.3 cm, you will need a square with a diagonal of 11.3-11.7 cm and a side of 8-8.5 cm

Advice. Before you start working directly on the slippers, knit a test square from the selected yarn and calculate the loops taking into account the performance characteristics of the yarn, the knitting needles you have chosen, and your knitting style

  1. The description below assumes the finished product will fit a women's average size (37-38 or M)
  1. Required materials and tools:
  • yarn of your choice (for women's and men's slippers - 300-400 g, for children's slippers - 150-200 g)
  • knitting needles 2.25 (correspond to yarn characteristics)
  1. Basic knitting - garter

Knit and purl rows are knitted with knit stitches

  1. Knitting density: 46 loops = 10 cm

How to knit square 1 and square 2. Design of the toe/toe of the product

Cast on 37 stitches on the knitting needles
1st row and all odd numbers: knit stitches
2nd row: 1 edge loop, 16 knit stitches, 3 knit stitches together (slip 1st of the three loops without knitting, knit the 2nd and 3rd stitches together, put the removed loop on the knitted one), 16 knit stitches, 1 edge stitch . After knitting a row, there are 35 stitches left on the knitting needle.
3rd row: 1 edge stitch, 15 knit stitches, 3 knit stitches together, 15 knit stitches, 1 edge stitch. After knitting a row on a knitting needle - 33 loops
5th row: 1 edge stitch, 14 knit stitches, 3 knit stitches together, 14 knit stitches, 1 edge stitch. After knitting a row on a knitting needle - 31 loops
Knit, decreasing three loops in each even row until there are 9 loops left on the knitting needles

Take a control measurement of the connected element and make sure that the diagonal of the square is equal to ½ the length of the foot of the future owner of the slippers

You have 9 loops of square 1 left on your knitting needle. They will become the basis for square 2
1st row: 9 square stitches 1, knit, add 14 stitches along the edge row of the left side of the square. On the knitting needle: 23 loops
Row 2: Knit 14 stitches and extend the row with 14 stitches along the other edge of the square. You have 37 loops on your knitting needle

Knit by analogy with square 1
All odd rows: knit

When the last loop is closed, you will get a kind of “boat” that will form the toe of the future sneaker

How to knit square 3 and square 4. Design of the side parts of the product

Cast on 37 knit stitches along the edge row of one side of the sock
Continue knitting according to the pattern
All odd rows: knit
All even: knit 3 center stitches together

When square 3 is completed, knit symmetrical square 4

How to knit square 5 and square 6. Heel design

Continue working according to the established scheme
Cast on 37 knit stitches along edge sides of squares (3 and 4)
All odd rows: knit stitches
All even: knit 3 center stitches together
Continue knitting until there are 9 stitches left on the needle.
By analogy with the design of the toe of the product, design the last square of the heel

All that remains is to create an armhole for the ankle and the slippers are ready. The knitting algorithm for the second slipper is similar to the first
The armhole is designed in any way convenient for you

  • using stocking needles
  • hook

And another great idea for simple children's slippers, knitted with your own hands

To make such slippers you will need two rectangles:

  • one for the sole. Accordingly, the width of this element is equal to the width of the foot, and the length is equal to the length of the foot. Don't forget the seam allowances!
  • the second is the top of the sneaker. The width should match the width of the rectangle-sole, the length should be 2 times the length of the first part

Sew the blank rectangles according to the pattern and decorate as you wish

Important: slippers are sewn in a mirror image!

Any craftswoman must have a lot of multi-colored balls somewhere. Collect them all and create a unique gift with your own hands. The article will discuss how to knit slippers on two knitting needles for beginning needlewomen.

Cozy slippers with two spokes

Knitting these slippers is very simple. Nineteen rows of fifteen stitches - this should be approximately ten centimeters square. To increase, add two yarn overs on different sides. You need to start work from the end and from top to bottom. You need to knit forty knit stitches, and so on for eight rows. Find the center of the product, add a loop on the side and in the middle. Close with a loop over four rows. After knitting ten more rows, close again. When finished, simply fold and sew beautiful slippers. With such a slight movement of your hand you knitted slippers on 2 knitting needles.

Modern slippers

This job is not at all difficult. Prepare threads, knitting needles, scissors. Have all the necessary supplies at your fingertips. Select thread of the required color and thickness.

Take note! If the slippers are intended for the cold season, then take a thicker thread.

To get started, you need to cast on ten stitches and knit sixteen rows with knit stitches. This knitting is suitable for its density, it does not have the property of twisting, and it is called garter stitch. After completing the initial stage of work, you should end up with a six by six square. In further work, focus on these dimensions.

Cast on nineteen stitches on the same needle.

Now you need to knit six centimeters or sixteen rows.

And on the reverse side, on the contrary, add nine pieces.

Now knit sixteen rows and bind off absolutely all the loops.

Prepare a symmetrical part, it will be needed for another slipper.

Such interesting slippers on 2 knitting needles are knitted without seams, but then they need to be fastened with a hook. Try to fold the product correctly, as shown in the picture.

Start tying with a different color of thread, but choose a fashionable color combination. Connect the edges of the slipper, starting with the toe.

Then bend the workpiece and tie the main part of the slipper.

The heel, tongue and back of the product need to be processed last.

Do the same manipulations for the second sneaker. And such beauty is already ready!

Footprints? Easily!

There is a huge variety of knitting patterns with two knitting needles. This is so interesting. Let's look at an example of knitting such interesting slippers. Work starts from the top of the product. Cast on approximately forty-three stitches the main thing is that the number is odd. Tie with a low elastic band or pattern. Knit in whatever pattern you want, but don’t forget to yarn over to the middle of the loop and after it. In the next row, such yarn overs should be knitted like regular loops. Work like this for fifteen to twenty rows. It all depends on the size of the foot of the person you are knitting these heels for.

Fashion trends and secrets of knitting footwear

Each work has its own highlights. So the creation of footprints has its own secrets.

If a novice needlewoman wants to gain experience in knitting leopards, then in the initial stages it is better to try working with a single-color thread. And when the skill has accumulated, you can make various colored patterns and combine several colors.

Footwear decorated with various ribbons, ties, and flowers are cool and fashionable. Nowadays it’s very stylish to dress up in ankle boots. They look very beautiful and elegant. It is especially popular to attach an elastic band on top.

Models of knitted slippers

They start by choosing a model. Each person is individual, so everyone has different preferences. Some people like classic short socks without high elastic bands and seams, others have long opted for socks that are more open and economical in terms of yarn consumption, while others love traditional slippers with felt or silicone soles. We suggest that you get acquainted with a detailed overview of the implementation of each model and choose the one that meets the preferences of the novice craftswoman and her level of training.

Required tools and materials

For inexperienced knitters, making even the simplest knitting items often becomes a serious challenge if the yarn and knitting needles are chosen disproportionately. Therefore, let's start with choosing yarn and tools.

For items such as slippers, the threads should not be thin. The optimal type of needlework for this type of needlework is medium-thick yarn with a long thread in a hundred-gram skein of 100-150 m. It is desirable that it contains both natural and synthetic fibers, for example, wool blend yarn. Wool will keep you warm, and acrylic fiber will make the product more durable. Today, a line of special sock threads is produced with the addition of a polyamide component in order to make the yarn more durable. This is the ideal option.

Yarn with the yardage indicated above corresponds to the size of the needles No. 3.5-4 mm. If its thickness is slightly less (150-200 m per 100 g), knitting needles are taken No. 2.5-3. Such ratios are the most optimal. So, let's start getting acquainted with simple models of cozy house shoes.

Simple knitted slippers with felt soles

What you need

    half-wool yarn (100 m per skein),

    matching knitting needles No. 3.5,

    two felt insoles size 38,

    two silicone soles,

    thick knitting needle,

    awl and scissors.

Work progress

The work consists of two stages:

Knitting the top in the form of a ribbon 6-7 cm wide in garter stitch (all stitches are knit). Its length varies depending on the size of the insole;

Sewing to the sole.

First you need to prepare the insoles. Stepping back 0.5 cm from the edge, use an awl to punch holes in 0.5 cm increments. They are needed for attaching the knitted top of the slippers to the sole. To complete the top of the model, 12-14 loops are cast on the knitting needles. This is the average height of the product and is selected individually (perhaps someone prefers high slippers, then cast on 15-16 loops). They knit a ribbon, focusing on the number of holes in the insole - there should be 2 times more rows in knitting. For example, if there are 60 holes in the future sole, then a tape of 120 rows is made. After knitting, close the last row and break the thread, leaving a “tail” of about a meter in length. It is necessary for subsequent stitching of the two parts.

The assembly process begins from the front of the slipper. The angle of the resulting tape must exactly coincide with the hole at the top of the toe, therefore, having inserted the thread into the needle, they begin to sew from the outside of the toe that part of the tape where the last closed row is located. Having reached the top of the toe, connect the corner of the tape to it, then continue assembling, sewing each rib of the knitted fabric with one hole with a “forward needle” seam and thus passing first the inner side of the sole, and then the outer. Having advanced to the toe, sew the tape over the already connected one in the same way as was done at the beginning of assembly. It turns out to be a kind of reinforced toe from the overlap of one end of the tape to the other. In order to hide the resulting seam and extend the life of these slippers, a light silicone sole is glued to the outer side of the insole.

Slippers with two spokes

What you need

To make simple slippers, you need:

    medium thickness yarn (150 m),

    knitting needles No. 3.5.

Work progress

Cast on 30 stitches and knit 8 rows in garter stitch, remembering to purl the last stitch in the row and slip the first stitch without knitting. In our example, edge loops are included in the calculation. From the 7th row they switch to the front stitch - front rows with facial loops, backside with purl stitches. So perform 16 rows and begin to form the heel. The number of loops is divided by 3, the central part will form it. Having knitted 19 loops with facial loops, the 20th and 21st are knitted together with a facial loop and the work is turned with the wrong side towards you. Purl 9 stitches, knit the 10th and 11th together, and turn the work again. In this way, a turn is performed, closing the heel and “picking up the side loops until they run out, and the heel is completely formed and there are 10 loops left on the knitting needle.

To continue knitting, pick up 10 stitches on each side by inserting the knitting needle into the front half-loop of the edge. Continue knitting on 30 stitches using stockinette stitch. Having completed 22-24 rows, they begin to knit the toe, decreasing the loops in the front rows (there are 5 such rows in total):

    7 persons loops, the next 3 are knitted together one, knit 10, 3 together, 7 loops. Purl rows are performed purl without any changes;

    6 knits, 3 together, 8 knits, 3 together, 6 knits;

    5 knits, 3 together, 6 knits, 3 together, 5 knits;

    4 knits, 3 together, 4 knits, 3 together, 4 knits;

    K3, k3 together, k2 together, k3 together, k3.

The remaining 9 loops are knitted purlwise. The resulting product includes a heel, sole and toe. All that remains is to knit a strip connecting the halves of the trace at the top. To do this, in the last purl row, knitting 9 loops, knit the 10th from the edge of the previous row.

The knitting is turned to the front side. A toe is formed by connecting it to the already completed fabric using the edge loops, knitting it like this:

4 persons loops, 3 together, k3. loops + 1 loop knitted from the edge.

When performing a purl row (9 loops), another one is “picked up” from the edge, also knitted purlwise. Those. in the front rows I knit 3 central loops together, on the sides - 4 loops. In each row (front and back), the last loop picked up from the edge must be knitted. The work is controlled by maintaining the same number of loops (9) and advancing the track, while tying it in the edge of the canvas on both sides. This creates a decorative “herringbone” that connects the two parts of the product and is an excellent decorative element. This connection is made before starting work, then the loops are closed.

Knitted slippers without seams

If you don’t want to form seams in items such as slippers, you can use the method of doing the work on five toe needles, knitting the heel first, the same way as in the previous model (on 30 loops). Then put on the knitting needles 10 loops on each side, distributing 30 loops on 3 knitting needles, 10 each, and on the 4th pick up another 10 loops, looping the work, i.e. connect with the 1st knitting needle. Knitting continues in the circle with stockinette stitch for 22-24 rows (if the work is done with yarn of the same thickness) until the toe begins. It’s easier to get your bearings by trying on the work.

The toe is formed in the classic way that socks are “closed.” Having conditionally divided the work into halves of the toe (for example, top - 1st and 2nd knitting needles, bottom - 3rd and 4th), decreases begin:

On the 1st knitting needle - knit 1, then 2 loops together, the remaining 7 loops are performed according to the pattern, i.e. knit;

On the 2nd needle there are 7 loops, 2 together and 1 knit.

Loops are knitted in the same way on the 3rd and 4th knitting needles, i.e., decreases are made on each pair of knitting needles at the beginning and end of the row. Naturally, the number of middle loops decreases with each row. When there are 8 loops left on the knitting needles, the thread is broken, and the loops are collected on an additional thread, tightened, tied into a ring, and the tails are hidden on the wrong side. If desired, you can decorate the model by crocheting the beginning of the knitting, since the air set of 10 loops can stretch and bend a little, but if the structure of the fabric is dense enough, then the product does not need any additional processing.

So, to summarize, we note that knitting slippers with knitting needles is not difficult, you just need to want to learn how to create these lovely attributes, which have long become a symbol of the warmth and comfort of your beloved home.
