The thing is that you don’t need to make a lot of effort to perform them, and the effect produced on the viewer fully justifies the efforts of the magician. With the help of them, you can surprise a group of friends anywhere, even without pre-training. In this article, we will take a closer look at the most spectacular rubber band tricks that anyone can learn.

Fidget gum

First of all, let's turn to the most famous, classic trick, in which the audience will see an elastic band crawling over their fingers on their own. The props for this action are minimal - ordinary office rubber bands and that's it. The audience watches as the person performing the trick puts it on two fingers of his palm. This is followed by clenching the palm into a strong fist. Then, the magician quickly opens his fist, and the viewer notices that the prop has jumped onto two other fingers in the neighborhood.

There is nothing complicated and extremely unusual in this trick. The most important thing here is to wrap the elastic band not only around two fingers, on which the viewer initially sees it, but around four at once before showing the trick. To make it easier to understand the scheme of actions, you should refer to the image:

Figure 1 shows an example of focus preparation in the case when it is wrapped around the little finger and ring finger. Exactly the same effect can be obtained if you do this with the index and middle fingers. The difference will be only in the very first step of preparation.

After an elastic band has been fixed on any two fingers of the hand (for example, as in Fig. No. 1), it is necessary to squeeze all fingers into a fist, and gently pry it off with the index finger of the right hand, as shown in the second stage. If you want to carry out this action even more discreetly, pry it thumb as in the third step. Further, while squeezing the palm, you need to pass all four fingers into the ring formed, as in the fourth stage. When the palm is extended, the rubber band should itself jump over two adjacent fingers, and leave the audience wondering how it was done.

It is important! Do not show this trick in front of the audience until all the movements are performed on your machine. If the viewer suspects some hidden manipulation of the rubber band, the effect of the focus will not be so bright.

Complicated focus option

This trick can be a little more complicated, making the audience even more impressed. To do this, another one is put on top of the main elastic band (Fig. No. 2).

In figure No. 2, the additional rubber band is shown in red, and it, as it were, should limit the magician in his actions even more. In fact, it in no way interferes with the transformations that were described in the first version of this trick. The trajectory of the main elastic band is shown in blue in Figure 2, and you can easily make sure that it easily bypasses the artificial barrier. Just repeat all the steps you already know from the first version of the fidget band trick and impress the viewer even more.

creeping ring

This trick is not distinguished by any skillful tricks, but despite this, it always makes a strong impression on all viewers. The props of this trick are a cut rubber band and a regular ring. The magician takes a ring from any of the spectators, and threads this elastic band through it. Then it is strongly stretched between the hands of the magician. In this case, one end is lower than the other. Despite this, the ring begins to crawl upwards, not subject to any earthly laws of physics.

The procedure for performing this trick is extremely simple:

1. When pulling the elastic through the ring, do not use its entire length, but only 2-3 centimeters. The rest remains in the palm so that the viewer does not notice it;
2. The visible length of the elastic must be pulled through the ring, while holding the rest in your hand. This is key point given focus;
3. Next, you need to raise the hand that holds the end of the gum without the ring, and shake it a little. After that, the ring should fall to the very bottom of the other end;
4. Then, gently release the loose end, and you will see how the ring smoothly rises up. In fact, this is not a ring that overcomes the laws of physics, but an elastic band pulls the ring up due to unclenching. The main thing is not to make quick movements, otherwise the focus may not have the same impression or even fail.

As you can see, rubber band tricks are distinguished by their simplicity and impressive effect on the viewer. You can easily master a few simple tricks that were described above in just a few hours of training. Well, after days, weeks and months, you can bring it all to perfection.

Tricks with rubber bands on fingers require knowing the correct location of each loop of elastic around your fingers. Only if you follow all the steps as described in the instructions can you guarantee that the trick will go smoothly, so you need to carefully train.

Simple tricks with a rubber band are based on sleight of hand and knowledge of the secrets of their implementation. Preparation is carried out quickly in front of the viewer, which does not allow him to immediately solve the mystery of your trick. The initial position of the elastic band: pull it over the thumb of your left hand, thumb and forefinger of your right hand. Bend the middle finger of the left hand and reach it to the top of the elastic band, pull it down.

Place the thumb of your left hand under the elastic band so that it is located between the index finger and thumb of your right hand. Now you need to pull up your right hand, while you will have the feeling that your middle finger on your left hand is tightened by a loop. It is this loop that is the main secret that rubber band tricks training takes place with the help of special books and video lessons.

After that, you need to slightly relax the gum (at the same time, you can imitate the movement, as if sawing your finger with a rubber band). The viewer sees that the elastic passes through the finger, as in other tricks with fingers, which are described.

You can also enhance the effect of the trick if you ask the viewer to hold the thumb when you have already completed the secret loop. You can also involve the spectator in performing the trick: ask the spectator to wrap a second elastic band around their finger as well, most likely the spectator will simply perform a loop around the finger, looking at the final position of your elastic band on the finger. Of course, the viewer will not succeed in any miracle and the elastic band will remain wrapped around the finger. This is how tricks with an elastic band are performed.

There is an interesting trick with a wide rubber ring, which must first be held in a certain way. Then twist twice with your thumb and forefinger, they need to be moved in certain directions, which can be found on the net in a special video lesson.

Now you need to ask the viewer to remove the ring from the finger, but it must be grabbed in the same way as you are holding: the right thumb and right index finger hold the ring at its upper end, and the left thumb and left index finger hold the ring at the bottom. Next, you need to offer to straighten the ring in order to get rid of twists, you can change the position of the hands, but you can’t unclench your fingers at the same time. Of course, no matter how much the viewer moves his hands, he will not be able to complete the task. The magician, after these unsuccessful attempts, must carefully remove the ring from the hands of the viewer, take it in the same way as originally. 2. Close your fingers by folding them into a fist. At the moment when you cover your fingers with the index finger of your right hand, you secretly pull the elastic band so that you can pass the tips of the four fingers of your left hand, except for the thumb, under the elastic band.

Tip 1: If you are going to a party and decide to surprise your friends with your sleight of hand, take more than one rubber band or thread. It can break at the most unexpected moment and it will be a shame.

Tip 2: Before showing rehearsed in public, show them to an outsider - someone from the family or close friend. They can notice inaccuracies in the performance and help you not goof off in front of real audiences. Tricks with rubber bands on fingers

Focus 1. "Wandering gum"

Props: ordinary stationery gum.

What focus looks like: You show off a whole gum. Extend your arm and wind it around the ring finger and little finger of your left hand in two turns. Then clench your hand into a fist. The elastic band will lie in a double ring on your fingers. Shake your fist and open your hand. Voila! The elastic "jumped" to two other adjacent fingers.

Focus secret: When you clench your hand into a fist, with your other hand you imperceptibly pull the elastic band over your palm and put it on the extreme phalanges of your middle and index fingers.

Focus 2. "Wandering gum for incredulous viewers"

It is performed in the same way as the previous one, but now on top of the first, leading elastic band, you put on another one, which seems to hold the leading one. The second gum "eights" will fasten all four fingers.

Focus secret: In fact, it does not affect the course of the trick in any way, but only distracts the audience.

Tricks with thread on fingers

Focus 1. "Tangled thread"

Props: Thick thread or cord about 50 cm.

What focus looks like: Tie the ends of the thread together. Then quickly tangle it on the left open hand between fingers. The main thing is to do it quickly so that no one guesses that every movement is rehearsed. Then you pull on the “random” part of the thread and it completely falls off your hand.

Focus secret: As mentioned earlier, the thread is not entangled in an arbitrary way, but according to a pattern.

Focus 2. "Endless thread"

This one is very easy to make, but the kids love it.

Props: Spool of thread.

What focus looks like: Standing in front of the children, you find a thread sticking out on your clothes. You try to blow it off or shake it off - nothing works for you. You take it with your fingers and start to pull. The thread stretches to infinity - you are surprised, the children laugh.

Focus secret: in a hidden spool of thread under clothing.

Mastering this trick is not difficult, the main thing is to understand the movement of the hands and perform it smoothly! A simple trick, but causes a storm of enthusiasm among the audience.
