Larisa Dolina is a legend of the Soviet and Russian stage, a super popular performer of jazz and pop songs, was born in the capital of Azerbaijan, sunny Baku on September 10, 1959.

Childhood

Larisa's parents were Jews, native Odessans, who ended up in Azerbaijan by chance. His father was a builder by education, his mother retyped texts on a typewriter, often worked at home. When the girl was barely three years old, her parents again returned to their homeland, where Larisa grew up.

At first, the girl was not too happy with the move - after the excellent conditions in which the family lived in Baku, the room in the communal apartment seemed to her a cramped cage. But soon she got used to it and even made friends with her neighbors. They discovered the girl's artistic abilities - the baby often became the initiator of courtyard children's concerts.

Drawing attention to the fact that the girl had an excellent ear, her parents sent her to study at a music school at the age of six. Since then, she has fallen in love with the stage even more. Although she also liked her mother's work - she loved to read interesting books, was fond of foreign languages and dreamed of being a translator.

But life itself puts everything in its place. During one of the trips to the summer camp, the girl performed with a variety children's group organized there. The performance was a resounding success. And Larisa herself liked the new sound so much that when she returned home, she herself began to look for a pop group with which she could perform further.

And soon such a group was found. At first, she was called to sing along - mainly because of her too young age. But, having become a little accustomed to the "adult" stage, Larisa moves to another group, with whom she begins to sing in restaurants in the evenings, at the same time trying to get into a serious pop group.

The path to the big stage

At the age of 15, Larisa withstands a rather serious competition and nevertheless becomes a full member of the Volna vocal and instrumental ensemble, with which she performs a lot and gains experience as a pop performer. To be able to work permanently, she has to switch to distance learning and finish school as an external student.

Dolina, then Larisa Kudelman, worked with Volna for about three years. And then followed a profitable offer of a permanent job in the restaurant of one of the best Black Sea hotels in Odessa, which the young performer simply could not refuse, although her parents were not at all enthusiastic about such a choice.

The Black Sea restaurant was then visited by the most influential people of the city, and the fame of the Valley quickly spread far beyond the region. Many visiting celebrities specially came to the institution to listen to the young talent with her unique style of performance and powerful vocals.

Once the guests of the "Black Sea" were the musicians of the fairly well-known Armenian pop group "Armina", who were left without a vocalist. Hearing how the girl sings, they began to persuade her to go to work with them in Armenia. Larisa decided to try her luck and agreed to this proposal.

Life in Armenia was not what she imagined. Ups alternated with downs, periods of a prosperous life - with complete lack of money. And who knows how long she would have lasted there if the head of the state orchestra of Armenia had not accidentally found out about her, who immediately invited her to work.

After some time, she goes to the pop-instrumental group "Sovremennik" with which she begins to actively tour the country. She becomes quite recognizable, but not known as she would like. Therefore, in 1979, she decides to try her hand at the variety performers festival in Tallinn and confidently wins the first prize there.

Already as a laureate of the competition, she has the right to represent the country at international festivals, which the Valley enjoys and in 1981 goes to Czechoslovakia, where she also receives the first prize. No wonder they say that there is no prophet in his own country. Only after the international competition she was finally noticed in her homeland and ... invited to act in films.

Not even filming, but recording the song “Three White Horses” for the film, which, after the premiere of the New Year’s comedy “Magicians”, was sung by all the children of the Soviet Union. This debut can be considered successful, since the Valley was almost immediately offered another small and very peculiar role, already a black artist in the musical comedy "We are from Jazz", which the Valley played with brilliance.

Solo career

It would seem that everything is starting to turn out well: Larisa gradually acquires her own name, begins to act actively, even manages to receive a higher musical education at the Moscow Conservatory. But all plans suddenly collapse - a decree is issued that all musicians who do not have a local residence permit leave Moscow.

The valley, tired of the fact that someone is again influencing her fate, decides to leave the conservatory and go to St. Petersburg. There she organized her own team and came up with a program of solo performances, which became the beginning of her independent path on the stage.

At first it was very difficult. Not only did the solo start take place during the years of perestroika, when the leadership of the central television channels and various rules changed almost every other day. So it was simply unrealistic to withstand competition with the promoted artists of the Mosconcert.

The only trump card of the Valley was her voice and non-standard manner of performance. And also the fact that she never, under any circumstances, performed under a phonogram. Even when performing at huge stadiums, only live music sounded at her concerts. And people believed the new star and went to her concerts.

Star Trek

Only in 1989, more than 15 years after the first professional appearance on the stage, Dolina first appeared on the screens of Soviet television with her solo program, which literally made a splash. It was from that moment that she really became a celebrity, somehow suddenly finding herself on a par with the leading pop stars.

It cannot be said that the metropolitan musical beau monde received her with open arms. Someone treated her coldly, someone - condescendingly. And Larisa, accustomed to achieving everything in her life with her own labor, paid in the same coin. But nevertheless, the star that lit up in the pop sky could no longer be extinguished. Very soon it became clear that the Valley did not come to the stage yesterday and not for a day.

In 1993, she received the title of "Honored Artist of Russia", performs a lot with concerts throughout the country, gathering thousands of spectators for each concert. But he never rests on his laurels, stimulating the musicians of his own team to this.

In 2002, she believes that she can already afford to return to her favorite musical direction again and sing jazz again, recording CDs with jazz compositions and including new songs in her concerts. Today, she is no longer so actively performing, appearing more in public as members of the jury of various music competitions and shows. Nevertheless, each of her concerts was and remains a real holiday for the audience.

Personal life

Brought up in Jewish traditions, the basis of which is the institution of the family, Dolina never had a stormy personal life, and as she herself once said, she was married all her life. Her first husband was a colleague in the Sovremennik band, musician Anatoly Mionchinsky, from whom she gave birth to her only daughter, Angelina. But after the Valley left Sovremennik, the marriage soon broke up.

With daughter Angelina

The second husband of the singer was the producer of her own musical group, guitarist Viktor Mityazov, with whom the singer lived for more than 10 years. Valley does not like to remember the reasons for the divorce, her daughter said that there were often scandals in the family, she also did not like her stepfather and believed that her mother deserved a better husband.

The singer considers her third marriage a gift of fate, although at first she was extremely wary of her future husband - after all, he is 13 years younger than the singer. They again turned out to be a guitarist - Ilya Spitsyn, who accidentally got into the Dolina team.

With Ilya Spitsyn

For a long time she was afraid that her daughter would be against her new relationship. But he and Ilya quickly became friends and became real friends. In this union, the Valley lost weight, got prettier and simply blossomed as a woman. It continues happily to this day.
