Bandana children's pattern. Do-it-yourself bandana on your head: master classes on making various types of hats with patterns and additional video tutorials. We cut a bandana with a visor

Hello! My today's article will be useful to mothers of boys. You have noticed that in a huge variety of summer hats, a very small part is occupied by boy hats, and in stores their assortment upsets either with colors or with too dense material that does not allow the skin to breathe. Today we will try to correct this injustice!

My MK: we sew a bandana for a boy will help you very simply and quickly make your own hands light headwear for your baby.

So let's get started!

We will need children's knitwear (not very dense, it's for the summer) or cotton fabric. The amount of fabric is small.

From your playful you will need to take only 2 measurements: head girth (Og) and length from ear to ear (UU). In my case, Og = 50 cm, YU = 34 cm.

Croim

Three pieces will need to be cut out of the selected fabric.

This detail will serve as the ties.

Its dimensions are made up of the following calculations: Part length \u003d Og + 30 cm for ties. And the width is taken 5-6 cm, but since the part is folded in half, the width doubles, so I get 12 cm. Do not forget 1-1.5 cm each - these are indents for the seams.

So, we cut:

Item1: Width 12cm

We get a stripe:

Item1: Finished

This detail will go from the forehead through the top of the head to the back of the head.

The width of this part in the center is fixed - 8 cm, to the edges you need to smoothly narrow it to 6 cm. And the length is calculated as follows: YU-width of the strip of the 1st part, i. 34-12=22 cm.

These are two sidewalls that look like a semicircle.

The length along the outer edge is equal to the length of Part 2, for me it is 22 cm.

Radius = (YU - Part 1 Width - Part 2 Width)/2. My calculations are as follows: R = (34-12-8) / 2 = 7 cm.

And pay attention to the fact that we take 8 cm as the width of Part 2.

The length in diameter, as you can see, is more than 2R, i.e. we need to increase it to 19 cm. We get this figure as follows: (Og-2 * (length of Part 2, which is 6 cm) -2 * 2R) / 2 + 2R = 19 cm.

To increase the diameter, simply gradually expand the arc.

It will turn out like this:

We sew

Now that all the details are cut out, we begin to sew Detail 2 and 3:

Detail 2 and 3: stitched and finished seams

Detail 2 and 3: ready, wrong side

Detail 2 and 3: ready, wrong side

Item 2 and 3: Finished

Let's start processing Part 1:

Item 1: iron to hem

Detail 1: chip off with the finished part so that the edge of the finished part is hidden between the edges of Detail 1

We bend and sew the finished part at the back, where the ends will be tied Detail 1

Sew Detail1 and the finished part

In the previous master class, I showed how to sew a cap for a baby. Today we will sew another summer headdress for our son - a bandana.

We will need a cotton fabric, as a bandana for a baby should be comfortable, absorb moisture well and allow air to pass through. I took cotton jersey - a cooler.

There will be only one pattern - a barrel.

We cut two parts of the barrel, as well as an additional 2 rectangles: the middle part is 33 cm * 10 cm, and the lower part is 85 cm * 8 cm.

Sew the barrels to the middle part. We still have a small tail left. We process the seams on the overlock and cut the remaining tail.

Now we need to measure the circumference of the bandana. We measure the lower cut in a circle, with the exception of the width of the tail at the back. I got 53 cm. Now we fold our rectangle - the lower part in half across. Set aside half of our resulting length from the fold. That is, I have it 53 divided by 2 = 26.5 cm. We note.

Sew on both sides to the mark. You can make ties at the corner. Cut off excess.

Now, before turning out our ties, we need to notch the allowance. To make it more clear, I will show on the diagram.

The notch must be done very carefully, not reaching 1 mm to the line!

We twist our ties.

We chop off and sew the free allowance of the bandana and the free allowance of the ties.

We process the cut with an overlock. We hide the tails of the overlock with the help of a gypsy needle in the seam. We iron the product.

Bandana with a visor, of course, you can just buy. The number of proposals, in the same, exceeds all reasonable limits. But, making a bandana with a visor with your own hands is much more interesting. And if you put on it, as a donor, which has become unusable, or just a boring thing, then it will be customizing pure water.. The material “Master class bandana with a visor with your own hands” echoes the master class of cutting and sewing.

These master classes (bandana with a visor - Budyonovka) have something in common, first of all, by the sequence of presentation of the material. In addition to the materials used. In both cases, it is a used cotton fabric. Well, the fact that these hats lovely gift! This determined the style of the bandana. It is a bandana with a visor that is most practical in terms of its use. There are simple rectangular shawls, tying which in a certain way can already be called gangs. There are complex structures in the form of turbans. Yes, yes, a turban is also a bandana. Bandanas are worn tied around the hands. Bandanas are worn by dogs. Babies have bandanas, they're bibs. Cowboys sewed on bandanas, like bandages protecting the lungs from dust... Bandanas are knitted, felted, and, of course, sewn. Knitwear, denim, leather...
You can cut out a bandana with a visor directly on the fabric. But when sewing another one, you have to draw everything again. Therefore, it is easier to have her patterns. And the patterns are most interesting to draw in the program for constructing patterns "Valentina". On the site resource, the program itself, for patterning clothes, can be downloaded for free from the links in the articles:

  1. New release of Valentina pattern making software
  2. Ready-made bandana pattern with a visor

Or find through Search on the site.

The chosen version of the bandana, with a visor, is very easy to sew. Even easier than cutting and sewing Zouaves...?

We cut a bandana with a visor

The bandana pattern with a visor is not parametric, unlike incaviar budenovka. The parameters of a bandana with a visor will be determined by the person who will wear it. Adjustment is determined by tying. The dimensional features indicated in the figure - example, will be slightly changed.

The program for constructing patterns is downloaded, installed, launched.

We cut the head of the bandana

Using the "New" button, create a "bandana head" pattern.

Using the Point at the end of the segment tool, draw a line from point A to the right. The length of the line is 60 cm. Dotted line type.

Using the Point at the end of the segment tool, draw a line from point A upwards. The length of the line is 20 centimeters. Dotted line type.

Using the "Point at the end of the segment" tool, draw a line from point A2 to the right. The length of the line is 10 centimeters. Dotted line type.

Work with the construction of points is completed. If you hold down the Shift key while drawing, then the angle can be fixed. It's comfortable. You can read about some of the techniques for working in the Valentina pattern making program in workshop.

Use the Simple Curve tool to connect points A - A3. Manipulating dimensional markers. There are two of them and they define appearance lines.

With the same tool "Simple Curve" we connect the points A3 - A1. Markers change the appearance of the curve.

Using the “Line between points” tool, we connect points A1 - A. The construction of a pattern for the head of a bandana with a visor is ready. But not really. Only rendering has been done. Now in the pattern making program, you need to design the part directly. A tool is used, which is called “Detail”. It is located in the group of tools with the same name. The contour selection is carried out by a simple mouse click. If the lines were built taking into account one direction, then there are no problems. If the direction is different, then Shift is used when selecting lines as part of the contour. There is always a hint at the bottom of the program window.

After pressing Enter, the part properties window will appear. Tabs will not be available. Or rather, the tabs will be available, but the details located on them will not.

If you just click on “OK”, and right-click to call up the context menu in this pattern creation program, then in the “Parameters” item, the situation will change dramatically. Details will be available. Let's put an increase in size - 1 cm on the "Increase for seams" tab. Click OK. The program will complete the increase, and mark it with a gradient of gray dots.

We cut the visor of the bandana

We are building a canopy. To do this, we create, in the program for constructing patterns "Valentina", another pattern. We call it "Bandana Visor". Point B will appear, from which the bandana visor pattern will be built.

We modify the visor, which is given in the original figure. Let's make it not adjacent, but on departure. Let's take the visor as a basis. Let's build point B1 at a distance of 20 cm from point B.

Let's measure the middle of the segment B-B1 with the tool "Midpoint between two points". Point B2 will appear

From point B2 we will construct point B3

Let's build point B4

Using the Simple Curve tool, draw a visor. Don't forget about the direction of drawing lines. It will be easier to build parts in this pattern creation program if the lines are drawn in one direction. For example, clockwise.

By analogy with the head of the bandana, we also set the allowance for the visor. A pattern for a bandana with a visor is ready. It remains to be printed.

Pattern printing

To print a pattern of a bandana with a visor, the mode for creating a layout of parts is used. It becomes available if there is at least one drawn detail. The layout can be exported to a file. This may be necessary if printing outside the home is possible. For example, in an advertising agency located on the other side of the city, and having such a printing tool as a plotter.

Often the patterns are large and you will have to manipulate the sheet format to fit them.

Patterns are laid. It's time to print them out. The easiest way to do this is through "File" → "Layout" → "Save Tile as PDF". The result is a PDF file with a bandana pattern with a visor. Blank sheets are not printed. Glue the printed ones. In order not to get confused, the clothes pattern program will number the sheets and indicate the edges that need to be cut.

Cut out

We cut out the details along the very edge of the patterns. After all, allowances have already been taken into account.

We collect a bandana with a visor

Assembling the head

We connect the parts of the head, folding them with their front sides, and stitching. The length of the stitched part is about 30 centimeters. A bandana with a visor must be tied. We will make a temporary connection of parts stationery clips. We put bartacks at the beginning and at the end of the line.

Let's overlay the cuts. Until the end of the line. Notch at the end of the line. After it, only one detail will be overlaid.

Sew off the seam with double stitching. This peaked bandana is made from denim.

At the end of the line connecting the parts, we put a solid bartack across the seam.

We cut off the second half.

Double stitching.

A bandana with a visor is sewn off as a gift. A gift for a person with a sense of humor. Therefore, a light banter is only good.

We assemble the visor

We cut the details of the visor.

We cut out triangles to facilitate the calculation and stitching.

We collect a bandana

Fold the head of the bandana and its visor, aligning the line of the head and the mark on the visor. Temporarily fix. Let's scribble.

Fasteners are required.

Overlay the lower section of the head along with the visor.

Let's sew this seam. Double stitching.

- This is a summer headdress in the form of a scarf. Very often, children's bandanas are equipped with elastic bands (to make it easier to put on) or visors (for additional eye protection from the sun). The advantage of a bandana is its simplicity. Such a headdress is simply put on, cleaned (washed) without problems, and sewn without the slightest problem.

In this article we will talk about how to sew a bandana for a boy or girl at home. Trust me, this is easier than you might think.

DIY children's bandana

To create an elastic bandana according to our pattern, you will need:

Please note that the measurements indicated by us are calculated for a head circumference of 52-54cm. If the volume of the child's head is greater or less than stated, the pattern should be adjusted accordingly.

Completing of the work

  1. A bandana pattern for a boy (girl) consists of three parts: two rectangles and an elastic band. Since we have the elastic band ready, you will only have to cut two rectangles. At the same time, please note that 1 cm should be left on the outside of each part (seam allowance). As a result of the allowance, the dimensions of the main part (larger rectangle) will be 42x26, and the side drawstring part (smaller rectangle) will be 28x7 cm.
  2. We fold the small rectangle (smaller part) inward with the face and chop off with the help of pins. After that, the part is sewn, with an indent from the edge of 1 cm (in this case, the threads must be fixed). If excess edges of allowances remain, they can be cut off, but note that the free edge must be at least 5mm.
  3. After that, a small rectangle (drawstring) should be turned out and ironed. The seam is most conveniently placed on the side.
  4. Then we insert a linen elastic into the finished drawstring. To make this as easy as possible, you can use the following device:
  5. After the elastic is inserted into the drawstring, its edges must be fixed. The easiest way to do this is by simply sewing them together at a distance of about 5 mm from the edge of the fabric.
  6. After all the details are cut and processed, we proceed to the assembly of the product. To do this, a large rectangle is superimposed front side on the drawstring (the raw edge of the rectangle is on the short side of the small part)
  7. The second edge of the main part should be placed on top so that the drawstring is inside the "pipe" of a large rectangle.
  8. Then we turn the "pipe" so that the drawstring is on its edge.
  9. Turn the part over so that the chipped part of it is at the bottom.
  10. After that, we begin to make an "accordion". This part of the work should be done very carefully and carefully. First, we bend the edge of the part, putting it on top of the drawstring and the gathered edges of the rectangle. We check that our bookmark is equal in width to the width of the drawstring. If so, everything is in order, if not, mix the parts so that both widths match. For convenience, you can chop off the resulting “roll” with pins.
  11. We sew the resulting "accordion". Of course, stitching a repeatedly folded fabric is not very convenient, but given that our bandana is made of light fabric it is still possible to do so. Then carefully cut off the excess edge of the fabric.

Exists a large number of summer hats for adults and children. Bandanas, which are somewhat reminiscent of a scarf, are especially popular. They can be worn not only on the head, but also on the forehead and neck. Below is a bandana pattern that can be used to sew a simple and beautiful product.

Types and methods of tying

There are two types of bandanas: classic and transformers. Classical products have the shape of a square, rectangle or triangle. They are sewn quite easily, so even a beginner can handle it. Transformer bandanas resemble a hair band. In their lower part there is an elastic band, and the upper part turns into a scarf or hood. Before sewing a bandana with your own hands, let's figure out how to tie it.

The classic way of tying is preferred by men, because it is considered the easiest. However, it is also great for women and children. We do the following: fold the bandana into a triangle, put it on the head and tighten the 2 ends at the back of the head (it can be a little lower). The free end should be under the knot.

A bandana in the form of a bandage looks very interesting on the head. We fold a strip from it, pass the product along the neck so that the two ends are on top. We twist them on the forehead, wrap the head and go down to the neck. We tie a knot and hide it under the hair.

The headdress can be tied in the form of a fashionable turban. We fold the product into a triangle and throw it so that one end is on the forehead. Tightly pull, twist the ends at the crown and wrap them around the head. We tie a neat knot on the forehead.

Choice of material and colors

Before sewing a bandana with your own hands, you need to choose the material for it. Dense and elastic fabrics are best suited, for example, chintz, calico, cambric. In summer, it will not be hot in such a headdress, and the product itself will last more than one season.

You can also sew a bandana from synthetics, but it is still better to choose natural materials. If necessary, you can use chiffon, silk and others thin fabrics. If we need a hat for autumn or winter time, then it is better to stay on a dense fleece.

When choosing a fabric, it is necessary to take into account its color. A product made of camouflage or denim looks very stylish. In general, it should be combined with the top (T-shirt, blouse, etc.). As for children's products, bandanas for boys (with cars, trains, boats) can look ridiculous on girls. This must also be taken into account.

Classic variant

For beginners in the field of needlework, you can sew this simple bandana. The pattern of the product is quite simple - you need to draw one large square.

For work we take:

  • fabric sized to fit a 56 x 56 cm square;
  • scissors;
  • threads;
  • needle.

Let's get to work:

  1. We take the fabric and cut out a square measuring 56 x 56 cm. The size of the finished product is 54 x 54 cm. We make a margin, because we need seam allowances (10 mm on each side).
  2. We bend one of the sides by 0.5 cm and iron. We bend again at the same distance and iron again. You can do without an iron, but it makes the job easier (smooth edges will turn out).
  3. We sew on a typewriter near the edge of the hem.

Children's bandana

Children's summer hats should be sewn from light natural fabrics. It is best to choose a fabric with a pattern, for example, with cars, if the bandana is for a boy. If we sew for a girl, then we can decorate the product with embroidery, appliqué or a flower. We take scissors, threads, a needle and proceed.

We perform the work in the following order:

  1. We make a bandana pattern on tracing paper. We draw a semicircle with a diameter of 22 cm and a height of 6 cm. We will also need 2 strips: 10 x 33 cm and 8 x 85 cm.
  2. We transfer the pattern to the fabric and cut it out. You should get two semicircles and two stripes.
  3. A wide strip is the middle of the product. We sew side elements (semicircles) to it and process the edges.
  4. We measure the diameter of the child's head on the bandana, and on the remaining "tail" we measure half the size of the head.
  5. We sew from the edge to the marks. When we get to the marks, we make notches.
  6. We turn the product.
  7. We attach a tie to the hat and sew.

Bandanas for adults

Now let's try to sew a bandana for adults. We choose fabric depending on the time of year when we will wear it. If you wish, you can even take suede or leather material - then you get a real men's bandana.

For work you will need:

  • the cloth ( minimum size- 40x90 cm);
  • chalk or pen;
  • needles and threads.

Working process:

  1. We look at the diagram above and build a pattern on tracing paper (or paper).
  2. We transfer it to the fabric, while marking points 1 and 2. Cut out the details.
  3. We combine points 1 and 2 on both sides of the pattern.
  4. We make a seam from the first to the second point, and then to the symmetrical point 2.
  5. We process the edges with an overlock, a zigzag or a regular line.

Another simple option for a summer headdress is a bandana with an elastic band. It is easy to sew and easy to put on. Therefore, this option is best suited for children. We take for work: fabric, elastic, threads, scissors, pins.

We do the following:

  1. We make a bandana pattern, for which we draw two rectangles on tracing paper measuring 27 x 45 cm and 8 x 20 cm.
  2. We transfer them to the fabric and cut them out. The finished product will fit a head of 54 - 56 cm.
  3. We take two pieces of linen gum (13 cm each).
  4. On the largest rectangle, we bend the long sides and iron.
  5. On the short sides in the center, we make oncoming folds and sew them on a typewriter. It turns out a kind of pocket.
  6. We take a small rectangle, fold it in half and sew along the long side (wrong side outside).
  7. We turn it inside out and sew it in the center (along the length). You will get two holes into which the rubber bands are inserted.
  8. We sew one edge, slightly stretch the elastic band and sew up the second edge.
  9. We sew the rectangles so that the ends of the small one are placed in the recesses of the large one.
  10. We turn out the product and straighten it.

How to sew a bandana smaller or bigger size? This can be achieved by adjusting the size of the rectangles. The resulting product will look great on the head and protect from the scorching sun. The main convenience is that it does not have to be constantly tied.
