An analysis of the trade and standard classification showed that, in the standard classification, a more detailed division of the assortment of tapes into groups according to purpose is provided. In the trade classification, the selected groups more accurately reflect the destination, taken into account by the buyer.

Recently, only in the production of tape weaving tapes were used such fibers as: natural silk, linen, cotton. But today, cotton and natural silk do not play a big role in production, cotton yarn is used to produce only some types. Today, chemical threads and yarn are preferred in production. Viscose, acetate, polyamide and polyester, including mass-dyed. Tape weaving tapes are made from viscose threads. Such threads are used for the manufacture of hat, satin, velvet types. In order to enhance the gloss of the surface, acetate threads are used. For strength and resistance to abrasion, polyamide (kapron) threads are used.

In general, the production of tapes is a very delicate process. But it's safe to say that they do their job very well. And the market can be presented very a large number of different tapes. They differ in the quality of the material, production technology, and personal originality.

In the manufacture of decorative and finishing types, various polyester threads are used in the form of a bundle, textured and complex.

What is the process of making tape weaving tapes? The process itself is divided into three separate cycles. Namely: the preparation of raw materials for the manufacturing process, the manufacture of the strip, and the third process for finishing the finished product.

The preparation of raw materials includes the process of winding yarn for weft on spools, and preparing the warp. Spools in tape weaving are used in sizes from thirty to eighty millimeters.

Some elastic bands require Special attention and more trepidation.

If we consider the assortment, then it will take a lot of time, since their number is very large. The range is primarily determined by the destination. Ribbons are divided into applied, decorative and finishing, and clothing auxiliary.

In turn, applied tapes are used in the manufacture of clothing for edging seams, for ties, zippers, etc. Most of them are made in main or finely patterned weaves from cotton yarn and viscose threads.

Ribbons in clothes are used as decoration, or as an integral part of clothing. Thanks to ribbons, you can make a suit or dress more original and exclusive.

Now a little about the decorative finishing tape. This type is used for bows, trimming dresses, suits, underwear, weaving into braids, etc. The assortment is very diverse, especially in terms of decoration. Decorative finishing ribbons are represented by satin, hat, finishing, nylon, lacquer and emblems.

The satin look is used for weaving into braids and partly for decorating national costumes. They are made of glossy (viscose) and acetate silk with one-colored weave. That's why they have a beautiful shiny side at the end.

Hats are made from natural and viscose silk, while having different colors. Such ribbons serve as decoration and decoration for hats, both women's and men's.

Lacquer ribbons are made of acetate silk with a satin weave, one-colored. Lacquer is used to finish dresses, suits, etc.

Corset ribbons are made from viscose or cotton threads with rubber threads or spandex threads.

We have considered several types of tapes, but this is only a small part. Each type has its own characteristics, its uniqueness in appearance and zest in production. Ribbons serve as a finishing material for clothing, the use of which gives originality and elegance to the outfit. Manufacturers of all kinds are trying not to stand still, but to look for new production opportunities. Today in the markets you can drown in choice. Especially if a person has a hobby of sewing clothes or other fabric items, then ribbons will help them make your work more original.

Many fashion designers prefer the design of costumes with ribbons, because they can be made in any style.

Ribbon weaving products as a group of textile and haberdashery products are represented by a fairly wide assortment by purpose, composition and other features.

Classification, composition and production processes of tape weaving products

Classification of tape weaving products. In GOST 4.13 - 89 “Textile and haberdashery products for household purposes. Nomenclature of indicators” presents a standard classification, which is based on the attribute of purpose (Fig. 4). On this basis, the assortment of tapes is divided into belt, finishing, applied, fabric, elastic, for zippers, wicks, textile fasteners. The named GOST takes into account the recommended area of \u200b\u200buse of tapes. For example, belt straps are used for wrist watch, belts to school bags, belts, leather goods, tourist tents and backpacks.

In the All-Russian classifier of products OKP-005-93, tape weaving products, like other textile and haberdashery products, are presented in the 81st class and are concentrated in the second group of the fifth subclass, subdivided according to their purpose into tapes for general consumption, as well as technical and special.

In the trade classification, as in the standard one, this subgroup of textile haberdashery is subdivided according to purpose.

According to the trade classification, tapes are divided into three groups: decorative and finishing, applied and clothing auxiliary. The decorative and finishing group includes following tapes: hat, nylon, satin, finishing, velvet, Ukrainian, etc .; to the applied group - keeper, sheathing, trouser, corsage and underwear; to the group of clothing-auxiliary - elastic garter, auxiliary, corset. Tapes for technical purposes are not considered at all in the trade classification.

An analysis of the standard and trade classifications shows that the standard classification provides for a more detailed division of the assortment of tapes into groups according to purpose. In the trade classification, the selected groups more accurately reflect the purpose taken into account by the buyer.

Composition of tape products. Until recently, natural fibers were widely used in the production of tape weaving products: cotton, linen, natural silk. However, at present, flax and natural silk are practically not used, cotton yarn is used to produce only some types of ribbons. Increasingly, instead of natural raw materials, to improve the aesthetic properties of products, chemical threads and yarns are used: viscose, acetate, polyamide and polyester, including mass-dyed. Dyeing is very important for viscose threads, since when dyeing, due to the uneven structure of these threads, it is difficult to avoid different shades.

Viscose threads with a linear density of 8 to 29 tex can have a different structure: twisted, canted, pneumatically connected. For the production of tape weaving products, viscose threads are used, made not only by the widespread centrifugal, but also by the bobbin method. Viscose threads are used for the manufacture of satin ribbons, velvet, hat ribbons.

To enhance the gloss of the surface, some tapes are made from acetate threads.

Polyamide (kapron) threads give the tapes increased strength and resistance to abrasion. The use of nylon threads of different structure - monofilament, textured, elastic, flat twist of various linear densities - allows you to create ribbon weaving products with high aesthetic properties.

The range of decorative and finishing tapes uses various polyester threads in the form of a tow, complex and textured. For the production of clothing auxiliary tapes, rubber ones are used, and in Lately and elastane threads - spandex, lycra.

Processes for the production of tape products. The tape production process is divided into three independent cycles: preparation of raw materials, strip production and finishing of the finished tape.

The main operations in the preparation of raw materials are winding yarn for weft on spools and preparing the warp.

In tape weaving, spools with a size of 28 - 80 mm are used. The threads come off the spool perpendicular to its axis. When winding the bobbin, the thread must be laid correctly, evenly and tightly. Incorrect winding of the bobbin causes breakage of individual threads during weaving, which results in a transverse strip or tightening of the thread on the tape and in places its edges are pulled together more than usual.

The base is prepared in several ways, depending on which tape it is intended for. For cotton tapes, the warp is wound onto cylindrical rolls; for silk ribbons - on small piles with sides; for elastic (rubber) tapes, parallel winding of the base on small beams is used. The warp threads must be evenly and correctly tensioned and laid in parallel, since if the tension of the individual threads is not the same or if they are randomly arranged (in a bundle), slack, loops and other defects appear in the tape.

For the production of some types of elastic tapes, which require greater elasticity, the rubber thread is wrapped with cotton yarn before being wound on the working beam. To do this, the rubber thread is pulled to the limit and, in this form, is braided with cotton yarn on a twisting machine. After braiding, it shrinks by half and remains stretched by 100 - 200% compared to the length before wrapping.

The production of tape strips is carried out on special tape weaving shuttle machines, which have a number of design features in the device of nerds and the system of movement of shuttles. They simultaneously produce a large number of tape strips (up to 100). Each tape is produced by its own shuttle and has earned edges.

Ribbons with rubber thread are made with a special weave. In this case, the rubber thread, as it were, does not participate in the weaving, but is earned in the middle of the tape by passing the weft over and under it.

In addition to the rubber base, an even base is involved in the manufacture of elastic tapes, which, when weaving, follows along with the rubber thread and gives the tape the required density and a certain tensile strength, and a piercing, interweaving base that winds the weft threads from above and below and thereby fixes the rubber threads in a taut position. With proper weaving, the extensibility of the finished rubber tape with smooth edges is at least 70%, with wavy edges - 80%.

More recently, shuttleless looms have been used to produce strips of tape, which can provide a significant increase in productivity. Currently, shuttleless looms account for over 70% of the total stock of tape looms. However, a certain range of ribbons can only be made on shuttle looms, which makes it possible to produce ribbons with earned edges, smooth and shaped, embossed, such as lace, corrugated. The edges of nylon tapes can be melted or sheathed on an overlock.

Finishing tape weaving products gives them a beautiful appearance, smooth surface, softness and shine. Elastic tapes are impregnated with a sizing, dried and calendered on hot rotating drums. The tape removed from the drum is passed through a softener where it is subjected to steam treatment. After proper finishing, the rubber band is resilient, soft, smooth and even. Silk and cotton ribbons are finished, and to give them softness and better appearance smoothed out on a hot calender. These operations are similar to those used in the production of fabrics. Ribbons for hats are subjected to finishing, which consists in giving the color more strength and making them low shrinkage.

Ribbons of high gloss varnish are melted down on a mirror calender. Some types of decorative tapes are decorated with patterns made by blocking methods (application of viscose pile in an electrostatic field along the adhesive contour), partial burning of the pattern, pleated trim, etc.

Assortment of tapes

The range of tapes is determined primarily by their purpose. As follows from the scheme of trade classification, the tapes are divided into applied, decorative and finishing and clothing auxiliary.

Application Tapes. Applied tapes are used in the manufacture of garments for ties, seam piping, zippers, etc.

Most of these ribbons are made in warp or small weaves of cotton yarn and viscose threads. Capron threads can be used in side, trouser and corsage tapes in one or both systems (warp and weft). In terms of finishing, applied tapes can be bleached, harsh and plain dyed.

The range of applied tapes includes twill, corsage, trouser, linen and curtain tapes.

The twill tape is made in the form of a “broken twill” weave, as a result of which the weave pattern has the form of a “herringbone”. It is produced in a width of 9.5-15 mm, bleached and dyed; used for ties to linen or sheathing room shoes.

The grosgrain ribbon of plain weave has a weave pattern of pronounced recessed tracks along the width of the ribbon; is issued strongly dressed, one-colored, 40 wide; 50 and 60 mm and is used for belts (corsages) to skirts. In addition, a corsage ribbon with rubber thread is made. The width of such a tape is 26 mm, it is used for the belt of trousers. The modern range of corsage ribbons can also be made in finely patterned or jacquard weave with the manufacturer's logo.

The composition of the trouser tape is usually cotton or with the use of nylon threads. The trouser tape is made of one-colored, twill or plain weave with a thickened edge (side), which increases its resistance to abrasion. Tape 15 mm wide is used to reinforce the bottom of the trousers.

Linen tape is made from viscose, nylon complex and textured threads, cotton yarn with various weaves - plain, twill, satin, finely patterned, jacquard. Its width is 5 - 17 mm; for finishing - one-colored in light colors and bleached. Varieties of linen tape are: double tape of viscose threads of a two-layer (bag) weave, while one side is made of plain, and the other - satin weave; a tape based on rubber threads and textured elastic threads, due to which one edge of the tape is smooth; and the second - with a frill or cloves. Linen ribbons are used to make straps.

Curtain tape for curtains is made in the form of a strip of plain weave. Its width is up to 25 mm. At some distance from the edge, a thickened nylon thread is laid with a running stitch. The tape is sewn across the entire width of the canvas and with the help of a thickened thread the curtain is assembled into beautiful assemblies. The tape is issued bleaching.

Decorative and finishing tapes. Decorative finishing ribbons are used for bows, weaving into braids, trimming dresses, suits, underwear, shoes, hats, so the assortment is very diverse, especially in decoration: weaving, trimming, color design.

The range of decorative and finishing ribbons is represented by satin, finishing, hat, lacquer, nylon and emblem ribbons.

Satin ribbons (liberty) are decorative and are used for weaving into braids and partly for decorating national costumes. They are made of glossy (viscose) and acetate silk, one-colored, satin weave, as a result of which they have a brilliant front side.

Finishing tapes are made with a dobby pattern that imitates geometric embroidery motifs, or a large-patterned (jacquard) weave of viscose threads in the warp and cotton yarn in the weft, or from viscose threads in both systems. The width of the finishing tapes is 30-105 mm. Used for finishing clothes, shoes, interior items.

Hat ribbons are made from natural and viscose silk of different colors with a combined weave. Depending on the pattern, these ribbons are divided into two types: with shaped edges (the edge pattern differs from the main ribbon strip) and with satin (with a satin strip in the middle), 25 - 48 mm wide. Hat ribbons are used to decorate men's and women's hats.

Lacquer ribbons are made of acetate silk with a satin weave, one-colored. The ribbons are polished on hot calenders to increase their gloss. Lacquer tape width from 10 to 60 mm. These ribbons are used for finishing hats, dresses, women's suits.

Nylon ribbons are made of fabric with a combined weave: a combination of linen with narrow satin stripes along the edges or linen with flocking trim. Tape width 35 - 90 mm. Ribbons are made one-colored in both bright and dark colors. They are used for bows, weaving into braids and in the form of sets - wedding and mourning. A nylon tape is also made from a plain weave fabric, 85-150 mm wide, 87-112 cm long. The edges of such tapes are melted or sheathed on an overcasting machine. Ribbons may have a pleated finish.

Ribbons-emblems are made of viscose threads with jacquard multi-color thematic patterns - anchors, geometric ornaments, etc. Ribbons are used to decorate children's, youth and sportswear.

Clothing-auxiliary tapes. Clothing auxiliary tapes are most often made using rubber threads or spandex threads, since their main range includes corset, bandage and garter tapes, which require significant elastic elongation as the main functional property. In addition to high-stretch threads, cotton yarn and viscose threads are used.

Corset and bandage tapes are made of viscose or cotton threads with rubber threads or spandex threads.

Elastic garter belts are produced in bleached, plain-dyed and multi-colored with a smooth, corrugated or looped edge, plain or finely patterned combined weave. In the modern assortment, their share is small: these tapes are used for men's, teenage and children's aids and instead of elastic webbing in children's and women's underwear, they are used simultaneously as edge trim. Width of elastic bands 15 - 40 mm.

Examination of tape goods

Requirements for the quality of tape weaving goods. The quality of tape weaving goods is determined by a combination of general and specialized indicators determined by GOST 4.13-89 “Textile and haberdashery products for household purposes. Nomenclature of indicators.

The quality indicators of tape weaving products are divided into two groups:

purpose - linear dimensions (width, mm), surface density (g / m 2), change in linear dimensions during wet treatments (%), type and content of raw materials, color fastness (points);

aesthetic, determined by the appearance of products.

Different kinds tapes, depending on the further application, are subjected to various testing methods. So, the keeper tape is tested in a laboratory for breaking load, degree of whiteness and color fastness to the action of washing and ironing; bodice - for breaking load, elongation, color fastness to dry friction and sizing content; finishing, satin, tartan, velvet, inlay - for color fastness to the action of washing, light and ironing; hat - for breaking load and shrinkage, appert content and color fastness to water and light; elastic - for elongation under tension, resistance to repeated stretching, sizing content and color fastness to dry friction.

Tapes must comply with the standards, have a strong uniform color. It is necessary that they be finished and not have gross defects. The ultimate stretch of elastic bands should be (%, not less than): garter bands, for straps - 70; corset, corsage - 45; shoe - 50.

The height of the velvet pile is 2 mm, for tapes with glued pile - 1.5 mm; the pile must be applied evenly, without gaps and firmly glued to the tape.

The defects in the appearance of tapes are divided into common and local.

Common faults include shading, hairiness of the surface, uneven edge, corrugated edges, striping on the warp and weft. These defects are determined by comparison with samples.

Local defects include the absence of one or more threads along the warp or weft (undercuts), breakage of the warp threads (braided), compaction of the threads along the weft (nicks), breakage of the rubber thread, tightening along the edge.

In addition to the listed defects in finished tape weaving products, there may be such shortcomings as uneven coloring, streaks, spots, stripes, blots, soiled edges, oil stains, earned fluff, skew, torn edge, uneven finishing and a number of other defects that mainly affect the appearance of products.

The quality of the tapes is determined taking into account defects in appearance, physical and mechanical properties and color fastness.

When determining the quality of tapes by defects in appearance, a conditional length of a piece is set at 10 m, allowing for a conditional length of no more than five different defects.

Tapes are not divided into grades.

The physical and mechanical properties of the tapes (width, weight, density, breaking load, etc.) and the strength of their color are guaranteed quality indicators. To determine them, 3% of packs are selected from the incoming batch, but not less than three. From each selected pack, one or two pieces, skeins or rolls are taken and at least five samples of the product are cut off in its entire width, 1 m long.

The width of the tape is measured with a ruler with an accuracy of 1 mm in three places - in the middle and at a distance of 20 cm from the ends of the sample. The arithmetic mean of three measurements is taken as the final result. Measurement is made on tables; the tape should be straightened and not stretched. The mass is determined by weighing the tape sample to the nearest 0.1 g.

Weft tightness of the tape is determined by counting the thread over a length of 10 mm. The number of threads on the warp is calculated according to the width of the product. The arithmetic mean of three measurements is taken as the final result.

In addition, the extensibility of the elastic tape, breaking load and elongation at break, resistance to abrasion, repeated bending, shrinkage after locking, as well as color fastness are determined.

Parts of the tape with defects in appearance that exceed the standards allowed by GOST must be cut out. In this case, no more than three cuts are allowed for the conditional length of a piece, and the minimum cut length is 0.25-1.5 m, depending on

tape groups. With a tape length of more than 10 m, the number of permissible defects increases proportionally.

Labeling and packaging of tape goods. Labeling and packaging of tapes must comply with the requirements of the standard, however, some requirements of the existing GOST are clearly outdated and need to be substantially updated.

The rules for labeling, packaging and storage of tapes are defined by GOST 19411-88 “Textile and haberdashery products, woven, woven, knitted, metric and piece. Warehousing, labeling and primary packaging.

Tapes are wound into coils (loose winding) or rolls (tight winding with one layer superimposed on another) with a length of 10; twenty; 25; thirty; 40 and 50 m.

Each skein is tied up in two places at the ends or girded with a rubber band, and the rolls are tied up in one place and placed in boxes or packs (from 4 to 20 pieces), and elastic bands are packed in boxes, bags or packs of 10 pieces.
