Social project "Bust-bridge: against breast cancer"

On April 25, the newspaper "Our Krasnoyarsk Territory" held a press conference dedicated to the launch of the social project "Bust Bridge: Against Breast Cancer". This is an all-Russian project, it started simultaneously in 127 cities. Its goal is to inform women about the need to prevent such a terrible disease as breast cancer, as well as to provide real, practical assistance to women. The project will include lectures and talks on women's health, as well as the possibility of free breast examinations in medical centers that supported the action. Minusinsk (his city status this year turned 195 years old) loves and knows how to welcome guests. This year the holiday lasted two days and brought together several thousand guests from the regions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as well as neighboring regions - Khakassia, Tyva, Altai and others.

People of labor, enthusiastic vegetable growers and market gardeners were honored at the holiday, discussion platforms devoted to the issues of the economic development of the territory worked. A large fair and sale of agricultural products was organized, tastings, exhibitions of vegetable and flower arrangements, there were interactive platforms with competitions. Good mood created performances of creative teams. The culmination of the celebrations was the costume procession "Tomato Show". One and a half thousand participants from twenty-two organizations marched along the main street of the city in beautifully decorated columns. The parade was welcomed by Acting Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexei Kleshko and Mayor of Minusinsk Dmitry Merkulov.

Also, within the framework of the holiday, an investment forum was held dedicated to the socio-economic development of the south of the region, in which the dean of the Minusinsk district, rector of the Spassky Cathedral in Minusinsk, Archpriest Yevgeny Neshcheret also took part.

The day turned out to be sunny, which favored the real festive enthusiasm, which was created from the very morning by the Troika ensemble and the brass band. And on "Flower-Fruit" and "Tomato-Vegetable" avenues, it was supported by institutions and enterprises of the city. In bright costumes with ditties and dances, they invited everyone to taste all kinds of dishes. Of course, on each table the main place was given to dishes from tomatoes, by the way, even bread with the addition of tomatoes was presented. The costume procession "Tomato Show 2018" looked like a real carnival. It was attended by 22 teams - more than 1500 people! The collective of JSC "Moloko" took the second place in this procession in the nomination "Vivat, Tomato!".

Alexander Terekhov became the main champion of this year. He grew a tomato weighing 1648 grams (Sprint-Timer variety), Alexander Petrovich is 61 years old, and his parents, who were meliorators, taught him to love growing tomatoes. The head of the city, Dmitry Merkulov, handed over the keys to the coveted prize - the VAZ-2121 Niva car, and personally made a lap of honor with the winner.

Thorough preparations were made for the 15th anniversary of the Minusinsk Tomato Day and the 195th anniversary of the city. This was also noted by the guests of honor of our holidays - Acting Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss, Deputy of the State Duma Viktor Zubarev, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Territory Alexei Kleshko and Mayor of Minusinsk Dmitry Merkulov.

“Tomato Day is a legendary holiday,” Alexander Uss emphasized. – Everything is in it: love for the native land, and the desire to work on it, equip it, take care of it, and the desire inherent in all Siberians to fight, go forward and win. Many thanks to the Minusinians who created this wonderful folk holiday, maintain and develop its popularity for a decade and a half. I wish you all a good harvest. And not only in the tomato field. There are two days left until the "Day of the Minusinsk Tomato". Wide festivities on this occasion will unfold on Sunday, August 21, at 11.00 at the intersection of Abakanskaya and Timiryazev streets. There will be honoring Minusinsk residents, workers in various fields of activity, summing up and awarding the winners of the Minusinsk Champion-2016 contest and much more.

At 10.30 a carnival procession starts from the intersection of Abakanskaya and Fighters of the Revolution streets.

From 11 o'clock in the morning, interactive sites near the city fountain, shopping centers, the monument to the Tomato, in the park near the chapel of Panteleimon, etc. will start working.

Among the events, for example, an exhibition of fire trucks and rescue equipment. It will be located near shopping center"Slavic". There, for young Minusinsk residents, a drawing competition on asphalt is planned on the topic: "The Year of the Fire Department."
