DIY New Year's calendar. Do-it-yourself advent calendar for children for the new year with templates and tasks that can be printed. How to make an advent calendar for kids for the new year

About what an advent calendar is and why it is worth having one - Irina Yakusheva.

... And again, fasting, no matter how much you read or think about it, takes place in the working and pre-holiday bustle. Our children go to kindergartens and schools, and in the evenings we rarely sit with them in the mysterious light of candles, reading good stories. The end of the semester, getting ready for the control and New Year's performances. I would have time to get out, but I would still buy gifts. “How to fast with a child? TV is not allowed, but sweet gifts can be given? And here are three more Christmas trees until January 7 - is this normal?

I just want to fill the remaining time with something, every day a little to celebrate the joy of the approaching Christmas. And the New Year - whatever one may say, he is the first. And simpler like that, but so that both joy, and surprise, and a reminder. After all, these are our ordinary children, who are becoming more and more difficult to surprise every year: pink ponies, princesses, fashion designers and harsh transformers are piled on the shelves - they are still waiting for something ...

The European tradition of the advent calendar just assumes such tender care for every day of the child left until Christmas. Calendars are sold - these are cardboard boxes with chocolate for every day, or wooden houses with drawers where you can put any surprises yourself. But very often parents make such calendars themselves, and this is the very warm, sincere work, that genuine attention, which our relatives lack so much in the pre-holiday bustle.

Waiting calendar is easy

My first calendar for my three-year-old daughter consisted of bags of sweets hanging from a string: I wrapped the goodies in colored paper found at home. Colored napkins, remnants of wrapping paper, and foil were used. For a change, I glued several boxes of colored cardboard. Sweets were unpretentious: cookies, marmalade, tangerines. Despite its simplicity, the calendar made a splash - all that remained was to remind the baby that the next day when it would be possible to cut off the bag had not yet come.

And how many more simple things can be used to create an original calendar: disposable cups, jars, envelopes. I met the idea of a calendar on a tray - if there is absolutely nowhere to hang something - paper cones painted like Christmas trees, and under them there is a surprise!

Advent calendar decorates the house

You can consider it the first festive garland. Bright, elegant, colorful. Brilliant, original, unlike any other decoration. Already on December 1, a holiday will begin to look into your house. The child will drag the grandmother who has arrived to this thing, and you will smile modestly: well, yes, we indulge a little, what is there. And to the question of friends: “Oh, what is this with you?” - it will be possible to answer with pleasure: “Yes, we are preparing slowly.”

Last year I made little mittens and boots out of colored fleece. I spent one evening on this, but now, I think, for several years (until I get bored), I will only buy sweets. However, homemade things have one mysterious property - for some reason they like them more over the years. That year I was in a hurry and thought about how to improve our calendar somehow, but this year I didn’t even want to redo anything.

Calendar organizes

The room where you place your future calendar will be quickly put in order. Honestly, honestly, you will simply have nowhere to go. Well, even if not immediately, you still want to do it in the near future. By the way, this year, simultaneously with the calendar, new red curtains somehow unexpectedly appeared for me, and a cute tablecloth with snowmen was immediately removed - all this pleases the eye and creates New Year's comfort.

Besides, a calendar is a calendar. The bag disappears - the day ends. Well, if it helps you and your child find out in time that there are 10 days left before the holidays! The child chews sweets and every day asks when is the Christmas tree to be decorated? In general, with some important things, you will not be able to hold out until the last.

Where without development?

That's how we got to it. If you want your calendar to not only pamper, but also develop - please!

You can number the calendar, or you can simply count the surprises. How much was taken, how much is left. If the child is small, you can learn colors and numbers, write the days of the week and short poems about New Year and winter, and put the schoolboy not only sweets, but also useful things. Winter proverbs and sayings folk wisdom, interesting quotes. Things for the day are not lessons, of course, but reminders of preparing for the holidays. Send a postcard to grandma. Learn the role for the play. Prepare holiday surprises for your friends.

Advent calendar is a simple and kind gift. He develops not only children, but the whole family - emotionally. It's great if older children eventually begin to participate in creating a calendar for toddlers. And I know one family where mom and children make another calendar - for ... dad! And he rejoices like a child, getting a little surprise every morning.

What if we don't succeed?

We still make it. The calendar can be made three, two or even one week before the celebration. For New Years or Christmas. Use the most simple materials: paper, paper clips, ribbons, napkins, glitter, jars of chocolate eggs, matchboxes. It is not necessary to make 31 or 25 surprises. Even if the "week" will be pre-holiday and filled with new meaning.

At the same time, you can think right now - what would you like for next year? Maybe something more complex and interesting will turn out. A cozy wall panel with pockets, a cardboard snow-covered house with drawers, and as surprises - not only sweets, but also interesting tasks on every day.

I will be glad if a holiday, a good tradition and good guests come to your house with the new advent calendar. After all, adventus is the "arrival". A few days before the main Birth - it's so simple, understandable and close. So let's make them childishly memorable and important!

Material prepared: Anna Ponomarenko

We continue the festive-gift-Christmas theme of making advent calendars. This time we offer an option for lovers of “jewelry work” and fans of the art of applique and now fashionable, scrapbooking. Today we will create an Advent - a matchbox calendar, for this we need:

■ Matchboxes - 24 pcs;

■ Beads - 24 pieces;

■ Cardboard sheet;

■ Sheets of scrapbooking paper (or any decorative paper);

■ Wire;

■ Postcards;

■ Flowers, leaves, figurines - for decoration.

■ Marker, glue, ink chalk, scissors.

1. Using ink chalk, we tint the edges of the smaller side of each matchbox.

2. We attach a handle to the “tinted” side of the box, for this we use a bead and a piece of wire. Each bead is strung on a wire, the ends of the wire are intertwined and pushed into a small hole made on the tinted side of the matchbox.

3. To fix the ends of the wire, we glue them to the inside of the box using strips of cardboard, measuring 1 cm x 3 cm.

4. We number each of the tinted sides of the matchbox with numbers from 1 to 24.

5. We glue a sheet of cardboard, measuring 10.5 cm x 10.5 cm, with scrapbooking paper - we will get the basis for our advent calendar. Do the same for the top base.

6. After that, we put matchboxes on the lower base, as shown in the figure.

7. Glue the top base.

8. To hide the side walls of matchboxes, use decorative paper, 4.5 cm x 5 cm in size.

9. We decorate with pictures, flowers and, of course, inscriptions.

Ready-made advent calendar from matchboxes

10. Put a surprise for your baby in each box.

So, for everyone who has gathered this year to make family and friends pleasant and stretch it for the whole of December, I will show my findings for the Advent calendar. I repeat for those who missed the "first series", that here we are talking about small gifts or tasks for the whole family for every day of December. These things need to be arranged in a beautiful calendar and then opened and unpacked every day in anticipation of Christmas or the New Year.

Well, i.e. in my opinion, it is not necessary to be religious in order to simply adopt a good, beautiful tradition of giving gifts. Therefore, you can make such a calendar for the whole of December - 31 days, or only 24 days before catholic christmas(if this holiday has become more important for you over time than the New Year). You can read about what Advent is and what things I made for it last time here:. (The link just leads to the "first series").

As you know, in order to get something successful and beautiful at the output, you need an input. In other words, our head needs information that can be digested, passed through the prism of our own consciousness, and only then get down to business.

Ideas for filling
For the December calendar with gifts, 2 things are important: appearance and filling. As will be seen from the examples below, the appearance very often depends on the content. Therefore, decide first what your calendar will be filled with. Do you want some ideas? Please.

These can be small, penny trinkets (but here it is important to know whether the gifted person loves this or considers it rubbish);
- homemade cards with heart wishes;
- write tasks for all family members every day that will enrich family life: for example, you can arrange joint drawing, a walk around the city, going to the theater, extensive shopping or going to the pool - something different every day!
- these can be large, full-fledged gifts - for children, toys, books, musical fairy tales, everything for creativity, and for adults, some perfume shoes, jewelry, stationery, etc .;
- pastries, chocolate and other culinary, daily surprises will also decorate your December (you can bake different types of cookies all month, and then beautifully pack many, many different bags of assorted cookies). Look, I've already made some sweet pastries for Advent.
- it can be one big gift, disassembled into 24 or more parts so that you can collect it every day and enjoy every new "spare part";
- these can be parts of some message that will be gathered into one big one, or hints of where to look for gifts in the house;
- these can also be parts of a large Lego constructor that needs to be assembled and at the end of December a whole city will line up from separate parts;
- hide only thematic things in gifts: for example, everything for a hobby of a loved one, everything for a vacation, everything for development or an old cherished dream. If these are big gifts, hide them in the house, and place a treasure map on the calendar :-)
- it can be a quest, thanks to which some items or clues will be collected for the whole month, according to which you will need to guess what it is about.

In the comments to last year's posting about advent calendars natalion shared her list of tasks for adults. She had two types of them - some purely household (buy and put up a Christmas tree, go for groceries to festive table, hang light bulbs around the house), and some are entertaining:
- make a selection of old Christmas movies for the holidays
- buy tangerines and eat them with pleasure all evening
- send postcards
- go out to dinner somewhere you've never been before
- buy in the store some exotic food that you have never tried
- make family portraits (a fun task, but a very long one, two hours flies unnoticed for running between tripods and lenses)
- order pizza
- cut paper snowflakes
- dine at home by candlelight
- write a letter to yourself in the future
- remember and discuss everything important for the year
- play dominoes.

From the experience of past years, I also decided that I no longer want to buy a bunch of small gifts for either my child or my husband. For the kid, it was generally too much, considering that at Christmas his relatives again filled up with gifts! As a result, all these things are then lying around, although last year I tried my best to make at least the gifts on the Advent calendar as useful as possible: brushes, paints, stamps, developing puzzles.

This year, I decided to spruce up useful trinkets with surprises like movie or theater tickets, trips to the ice rink or the Christmas market, movie nights with popcorn together, filmstrips and old photo nights, or sweet buns baking together.

And now more about the appearance.

1. For this calendar, you need to clearly prepare in advance in order to buy and eat so many canned goods :-) Photos from here (you will also find there detailed instructions to create such a jar calendar for December): adventskalender-basteln.me

9. This example is a repeat from last year from the blog of the German girl Valentina. She came up with such an interesting design: she tied a basket to a paper lamp from Ikea, put a monkey in it, and instead of sandbags, she balloon received a lot of colorful bags with small gifts. The numbers written on the stars are just the days from December 1 to December 24, in order to know exactly on which day one or another bag can be opened.
