Effective and simple methods of teaching reading. Recommendations for parents on how to quickly and correctly teach a child to read

I want to offer you material for independent play and preparation for learning to read. This material is based on the Zaitsev method - learning to read in warehouses.

The warehouse method has been known since the time of Leo Tolstoy. A warehouse is considered to be a merger of a consonant with a vowel, a separate vowel as a syllable, a separate consonant (in a closed syllable), a consonant with a sign. For example, SO-BA-KA, PA-RO-VO-Z, A-I-S-T and so on. In warehouses, the baby begins to say MA-MA, and not in letters or in a whole word. According to warehouses, it is easier and more natural to teach him to read.

But, unfortunately, ready-made manuals of N. Zaitsev's methods (cubes, tables) are quite expensive. Therefore, not every mother can use them. And if in the place where the mother lives with the baby, there are no shops with benefits nearby, or circles where you can enroll the child, then the only way out is to make benefits with your own hands.

These manuals are cards with letters. You need to download 3 files: the king's house (135 kb), the queen's house (119 kb), and the file with consonant cards (19.5 kb).

Cards from the king's house and the queen's house must be cut out and connected vertically (i.e. in a column in the order they are printed).

Then (at the request of the parents) these houses with front side they are pasted over with adhesive tape, and glued on the back of fleecy paper (another option is to stick Velcro). You need to put them under pressure for a day. At this time, we take a sheet of plywood (dense cardboard or other improvised material) and cover it with flannel.

Now our king and queen houses can be easily placed on a flannel board, and they will hold perfectly there.

Let's start playing with the baby.

Come up with a fairy tale about the king and queen, about the letters that live in houses. For example: "They lived, there were a king and a queen, and they had many servants. The king's servants lived in a large house, the queen's servants lived in a smaller house. These servants were not simple, they all loved to sing. Etc."

Sing the letters from the houses (from top to bottom). You can sing to any motive, the main thing is that the baby is interested. Do not be afraid that you have no hearing, your baby still thinks that you sing the best!

When these vowels in the houses are learned, we cut out and make consonant cards: B, P, M, K.

We take, for example, "B" and begin to roll it around the houses:
BA
BO
BOO
WOULD
BE
--
bya
bye
byu
bi
be

We also roll the remaining 4 letters:
MA
MO
MU
WE
ME
--
me
myo
mu
mi
me

Then you can substitute letters to the right and left of the houses:
BAM
BOM
BOOM
etc.

We do the same with the rest of the consonants (we make cards, roll them around the houses, substitute them for other warehouses). It's simple but enough effective technique, in my opinion.

When my eldest daughter I went to classes according to the Zaitsev method (Studio "Zaichata"), learned to read in a few lessons. But she was then 4-5 years old. Young children naturally need more time to learn the material.

and from what age to do it? My son is 2 years 3 months old, he is not speaking yet. Although he knows a few letters. Too early?

If you are interested in my opinion, then I believe that the warehouse principle proposed by Zaitsev is the most effective for teaching children to read. It is better to have his benefits, but if this is not possible, then adopt the principle itself.

This article covers the topic "Reading aids".

Teaching children to read allows them to open up new opportunities for them - they learn to independently get acquainted with the works they like and thereby broaden their horizons. For many parents, this seems like a daunting task, but experienced educators and methodologists know how to make the process fun and effective.

Teaching children letters, syllables. Reading for children 3,4,5 years old

The most important success factor in teaching a child to read is timeliness and interest. There is a misconception that classes early age superfluous, but it is in the first years of life that babies go half the way of intellectual development. If time is lost, then the skill of learning to read will require more time and effort.

The main task of modern manuals for teaching children to read is to help parents in an easy way to convey new knowledge and skills to the baby. In the online store "Early Start" you can find educational literature of various authors on this topic. These are primers and alphabets, as well as books for development, teaching children to read and for consolidating what they have learned. The author's methods of N.A. Zaitsev are presented. and Doman-Manichenko. Such manuals, developed by experts in the field preschool education and development, will help parents and educators of various children's institutions.

Teaching reading to a preschooler

Sooner or later, a normal parent of a preschooler is puzzled by the issues of learning to read.

There are two right conditions to start learning to read. First, when a preschooler shows interest in learning. In this case, classes can begin immediately.

Another case is when the child has no interest in learning.

You should start with letters, then syllables, words, and then move on to sentences. The fact is that letters, syllables and words are NOT built according to logical laws. If an adult understands that the letter P and A together will be read "PA", then the student cannot understand this, he can only understand.

And finally, a few rules for successful learning to read:

1. Stimulate the student's interest in classes using a friendly atmosphere, various games and allowances.

2. It is not so much the duration of the lesson that matters, but the frequency. In learning to read, one must be consistent.

3. Learning to read requires mental stress from the baby, so after class, be sure to play outdoor games with the child, let the child rest after class.

4. If a child does not want to study, then the child's abilities do not keep up with the requests of an adult. Be patient and never start classes if or your child is in a bad mood.

5. Do not compare your baby with other children. everyone has their own speed of learning and perhaps your student's talents will manifest themselves in another area.

It is so easy for us, adults, to connect two letters, and the child, out of habit, pronounces them articulately. Instead, he speaks out.

Books for learning to read

This is at best. It is much worse if parents, ahead of events, teach the child the alphabet. In this case, the child, seeing, for example, the familiar letter "m", runs the risk of reading it "in alphabetical order", that is. Thus, the word "mother" becomes incomprehensible.

Important! When you introduce a letter to a child, you need to pronounce it not as it sounds in the alphabet, that is, but simply.

To make it easier for the child to read the letters together, you can use the “running man” method proposed by Nadezhda Sergeevna Zhukova: indicate the first letter with a pencil, move the pencil to the second letter, and invite the child to connect them with a path: “Pull the first letter until you are with the little man you will not run along the path to the second letter.

SYLLABLE TABLES

Syllabary tables can be used to develop syllabic reading skills. Such tables allow you to read both open and closed syllables. The principle of their creation is simple. To read open syllables: vowels are placed in the top line of the table, consonants are placed in the first column, and open syllables are placed at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical. To read closed syllables: in the top line of the table - consonants, and in the first column - vowels; at the intersection - closed syllables.

An open syllable is a syllable ending in a vowel sound ("ma" "pa").
A closed syllable is a syllable ending in a consonant ("am" "ar").

Syllabic tables may not necessarily have a "tabular" form. To interest the child, the tables can be "presented" in the form of a butterfly or a flower.

LITERATURE IN KINDERGARTEN

One of the characteristic trends in the development of modern education in our country is the decrease in the age of children who begin to study literacy. This applies not only to the family striving to teach the child to read as early as possible, but also to the kindergarten, where the content of speech development classes has changed significantly in recent years. Tasks appeared in them that had not previously been set for children and teachers of preschool institutions. Among these tasks, first of all, is the teaching of older preschoolers to read (whereas previously only preparation for teaching literacy was carried out).

Writing is the greatest invention of mankind, which helps him to preserve the most valuable thing that he has created and pass on to other generations, provides communication with the culture of his own and other peoples. Therefore, the assimilation of writing, that is, the conscious command of one's native language, has always been considered one of the most important means of a child's development.

How a child is introduced to literacy largely depends on his success not only in reading and writing, but also in mastering the Russian language as a whole.

Adults need to remember that reading and writing are complex skills that require a certain level of development of the child (psychological, physiological and linguistic). The speech and language development of the child should proceed smoothly and competently within the framework of age capabilities and individual characteristics every child.

The readiness of a child to learn to read and write consists of many components, among which paramount importance is given to such speech characteristics as developed speech hearing (which underlies the prevention of dysgraphia and dyslexia), clear articulation of the sounds of the native language (which ensures correct pronunciation), knowledge of visual images of letters and the ability to correlate sound with a letter, developing flexibility and accuracy of hand movement, eye measurement, a sense of rhythm (which is especially important for mastering writing), etc.

At the senior preschool age, the level of speech development of the child takes him to a serious stage. The child comes close to mastering the written forms of speech (reading and writing). The complex process of acquiring literacy is divided into several stages, most of which are at school. But in order to make literacy training at school more successful, it is necessary to form part of the skills in the older groups of the kindergarten.

Pretty soon I realized that word reading is just the starting point, the initial stage in the process of learning to read. Having learned to read in warehouses, the child is not yet able to independently read and understand a story, a fairy tale, or at least a more or less complex sentence. It may seem surprising, but a child who is already reading in warehouses still does not understand what a word is, what a sentence is. Both that, and another for it - only a chain of warehouses. It is not easy for a child to keep such a chain in memory, especially if the sentence is long. Therefore, the meaning of what is read does not always reach the child, and often not completely. That is why learning to read cannot be completed as soon as the baby has been taught to read words in warehouses (“as long as this is enough, the rest will be taught at school”).

The ability to put together a word from warehouses, of course, develops a child. But in order to help a child to fully reveal his natural abilities, you need to teach him to read and understand books, to enjoy reading. Only in this way can a child be addicted to reading at an early age. And then in later life (and I have already accumulated such observations) reading will become for him an untiring, exciting activity.

The method of reading in warehouses can be used only as much as necessary to teach a child to freely read words of any degree of complexity, ranging from the simplest two-fold words, such as FISH, GOOSE, YULA, and ending with complex ones, such as KASTR RYuLA , VERBLU D and even ELECTRICITY. This happens to me on the FIRST, SECOND and THIRD STAGES of TRAINING. After that, it is necessary to help the child get rid of the habit of splitting words into warehouses and move on to reading by syllables and to reading words together. If this is not done in time, then such a habit will take root and will slow down reading and comprehend. I think any teacher would agree with this.

A manual for teaching children to read "I teach to read"

Only those who did not teach three-four-year-old children at all or taught them according to the same program as first-grade schoolchildren will object. The question is not whether it is necessary to switch to reading by syllables. The question is how to make this transition quickly and efficiently, if possible not tiring for the child, using elements of the game and competitiveness.

I describe in detail my method of transition to reading by syllables and to the continuous reading of words, which I have been improving in the process of teaching children over a number of years, in the section FOURTH STAGE OF TEACHING READING.

Someone may say: “Why was this reading in warehouses necessary at all, anyway, after all, they came to syllables. They would learn from the very beginning to read by syllables, adding them from letters, as is now customary in schools.

I strongly disagree with this. My rather long experience of teaching young children led me to the following conclusion: learning should begin with reading in warehouses, and then move on to reading in syllables and to reading words together. Warehouse reading is very important at the initial stage. It not only speeds up the learning process, but also provides a good basis for subsequent reading in syllables. Try to teach a four-year-old preschooler to fold letters and read words such as “wool”, “look”, “cut”, “sculptor”. Better not try, do not torture children. And my crumbs, which you see in this photo, after having mastered reading in warehouses on the initial steps, on the FOURTH STAGE OF LEARNING, words like nuts click. You will see for yourself when you see them in the videos of the FOURTH STEP.

Learning to read is an exciting process. Mastering this important skill at the age of 5-6 years will greatly facilitate the assimilation of lessons at school, and the adaptive period will make it easier.

However, reading is also a very difficult step. For this, the psychological readiness of the child for learning is important. After all, we need not only to teach him to read, but also to instill a love of reading and literature. How to teach a child to read? The main thing is the desire of the parents and the readiness of the baby! And everything will work out!

Signs of a child's readiness for the learning process

Of course, you can start studying with a three-year-old, trying to grow a child prodigy. Everything is individual! But still, psychologists recommend paying attention to some signs that will tell you that the baby is ready to learn the basics of science - reading. There are a lot of such signs, and here are just a few:

  • The child has a fairly developed, understandable speech;
  • He has an extensive vocabulary, in speech there should be complex sentences;
  • The child should be able to retell what he was told in the kindergarten, at home. The story should be clear and structured;
  • The child's spatial and temporal orientation. Also understanding the cardinal points;
  • No speech impediments. That is, it is too early to start reading if the child cannot pronounce some sounds and letters. But, again, this requires a very individual approach!

If the crumbs have all these signs, then parents can already think about the task of mastering reading. Today, educators and scientists have developed many ways to teach this skill. Reading teaching methods are diverse and each parent and teacher will be able to choose the most suitable for them. Today we will consider the most common and popular.

Zaitsev's cubes and why do children like them so much?

Zaitsev's technique at the moment, even after a decent time after its first appearance, is still one of the most popular methods for teaching children to read.

Teacher N.A. Zaitsev from St. Petersburg. He came up with the idea of placing frequently pronounced spellings of letters in a table, and then dividing them into cubes.

What is the feature of the method? All learning takes place in the form of a game, and in the game the child remembers better, as he is carried away and fully involved in the process. By the way, many teachers note that this method is very suitable for left-handed children. This is justified by the fact that such children better remember and perceive the whole word, and not individual letters.

There is, however, a minus in the methodology, which, according to defectologists, is very significant. Children who were taught according to the Zaitsev method, having learned the letters and starting to read, often “swallow” the end of a word or phrase, then they cannot begin to disassemble the word by composition, since they initially perceive the word as a whole, not being able to disassemble it into parts.

There are enough mistakes, or rather shortcomings in the created methodology. So, for example, on the cubes there are combinations of letters, such as "BE", "GE" and so on. The child gets used to such "combinations" of letters, although they are applicable in rather rare cases.

Yes, and there are other flaws - the differences between reading and writing. If in a letter we use the combination "FE" in the words "coffee", "cafe", then we pronounce: "KAFE", and so on. There are many examples of such inconsistencies.

What is remarkable today is a set of Zaitsev's cubes that everyone can do on their own, and make them according to their needs and any size. So the cubes will fit not only in roomy school backpacks for teenagers, but also in small funny backpacks for preschoolers.

We read in syllables - easily and naturally. The most famous method is syllabic reading.

Syllabic reading is a technique used today in almost every preschool and primary school institution. By the age of five, a child can completely remember the alphabet and even learn to read, if you help him in these difficult matters consistently and slowly. By the way, the syllabic technique is just perfect for this age.

At first, the baby with parents or caregivers gets acquainted with the letters, learns to name them correctly, pronounce them, and then combine these letters with others, combining them into syllables. The syllables, in turn, then form words. But each stage of this training is done gradually.

For classes, you will need cards with letters, preferably large, on a white background. By the way, you can make such cards yourself.

Take thick cardboard, it's better white color. Felt pen or red marker. And make a markup for each card on the cardboard. Let them be 5 by 5 centimeters, so it will be convenient for the baby to hold them, and then it will be easy for you to collect them. On each card, write one large letter on one side, paint over it. Be sure to write in block type. Make a whole alphabet in this way, and best of all, not one, but several sets of cards, so that later you can compose both syllables and words.

You can also buy a primer - it will obviously not be superfluous, besides, it will come in handy later at school. The very first textbook for your crumbs should be chosen very carefully. Consider everything - the font, the presence of illustrations, make sure that there are not too many of them on one page, as very bright and large drawings can distract the attention of a small student. The absence of pictures can also negatively affect the results of the study - the baby will simply not be interested in studying.

It is best to start acquaintance with letters with open vowels. This is A, E, U, S. Then you can include several voiced consonants in the study. The first to be remembered are M and L. The letter “M” is remembered quickly, since the most frequently spoken word “mother” begins with this letter. The kid begins to read just these syllables “ma-ma”, and then he also begins to write, and of course, the letters and syllables of his name.

After consonants and vowels, you can begin to study hissing: Ch, Sh, P, X, and so on.

Another advice, more psychological - do not rush. Everything has its time. A child will learn to read by all means, but when at 4, at 3 or even at 6 years old it doesn’t matter. After all, if you admit to yourself, many just want to brag about the achievements of the children, and from that they are working harder with them, trying to give them as much information as possible.

It is best to start each new lesson in the study of letters by reviewing past lessons. Let the kid name those letters that he knows, together name the words for these letters. Try to name different words every new day, so you will eventually get a developed vocabulary and a wonderful imagination, and memory.

Have you learned all the letters? Are you confused? Do not stumble? Fine! Well done, now is the time to get started syllabic reading. Name one letter, explain that they can be connected, and read the whole syllable together.

A little later there will be a whole article on games in syllabic reading.

Learning by playing

Game learning to read is perhaps the most enjoyable and most accessible method for children. The name itself speaks for itself - the child actively learns knowledge, while doing what he loves to do.

Take, for example, such simple game. Here is a letter in front of the baby - it can be drawn, made of paper, sewn from fabric, even molded from plasticine (another plus is the development of fine motor skills), and here is the second - and they catch up with each other.

According to this deep-playing and fabulous principle, my manual for the study of the letters "Bukvograd" is also built. If you are not familiar with it yet, then start acquaintance with.

You can play "search for lost letters" who get lost and cannot find their way home. How to help them? Name correctly. The letter "A" will be read and "go home", and so on. Involve your child in this simple game - look for desired letters in TV shows, picture books, on the street in store signs, and so on ... There are a lot of options.

You can make a letter maze at home. Take cardboard and make cards of the same color and size, write letters on them. Let the vowels be red and the consonants blue. This will make it easier for your child to remember. And now make a hole in each card and pull a thread through this hole at different distances. Spread the thread with the letters strung on it around the apartment. And let the child find the beginning of this thread, and move forward along it, naming each encountered letter. Both interesting and simple!

On the one hand, there seems to be only one plus from this technique - after all, it’s good for the child, it’s not boring, and it’s easy for mom and dad - the games are simple, and the skills gained with their help are very valuable. But there are still downsides. Namely, any lesson can become a game ... That is, the child will only get used to playing, and when real serious classes begin, he will perceive them incorrectly. Therefore, you should immediately prioritize, because your goal is not only to play, but also to teach reading, the ability to focus attention, and be assiduous.

After you master the letters in the game, in the same way you can take up syllables, and then reading simple words. More important point! No matter how interesting your game is, always pronounce readable letters, syllables and words correctly. No need to distort the correct stress, watch yourself and your child. The game method of teaching reading by syllables involves a funny presentation of information, entertaining lessons, but not lisping and inventing stupid diminutive words.

The method of teaching reading by Glen Doman

Popular among modern parents is the teaching method according to Glen Doman. According to it, you need to start dealing with the heir or heiress right from infancy. The method is based on showing cards with different images. It can be letters, numbers, animals, plants and more. It depends on what you want to teach the baby.

As for reading, Doman has his own guesses and statements: the child first needs to memorize the first few dozen words. Mom just shows the picture on the card for a few seconds. There may be many such cards, or there may be few. in general, the technique advises to quickly change pictures.

This technique has a positive effect on the breadth of horizons. Thanks to Doman, literally from the cradle, children begin to master and “study” the surrounding objects and even what he has not seen at all.

Whatever method or method you choose, or even a separate allowance, there are a lot of them now, remember one thing - do not rush your baby, let him enjoy a carefree childhood, start classes and serious training when he is completely ready for this! Feel each other...

Happy learning and playing!

Warmly

Many modern parents have to teach their children to read as early as preschool age. Indeed, in many lyceums and schools, rather serious requirements are imposed on first-graders: the child must already be able to read, write and think logically. Of course, these skills make it easier to get used to during training and quickly integrate into the learning process.

Where to begin?

In fact, preparation for reading begins at a very early age. First of all, it is worth starting not with the reading itself, but with a general cognitive development child. Such development is greatly facilitated by simple tasks for logic, fine motor skills and the improvement of speech.

Some examples of games for children 4 years old

  • Continue the word. We learn to invent words, develop imagination and speech.

Throwing the ball into the child's hands, say the beginning of a word. For example, the syllable "Ma". And the child, returning the ball to you, should continue it and say “Sha” or “Tire”. Be sure to pronounce the whole word later: Masha or the car. Then complicate it a little and set a specific theme for the hidden words. For example, fruits, transport or names.

  • Sound riddle. Learning to develop memory and auditory attention.

Prepare some children's musical instruments or toys: a pipe, a rattle, a bell, etc. Demonstrate all the sounds in turn so that the child remembers them. Then ask him to turn away and guess what object is making a sound now. Gradually complicate the game and alternate several sounds in turn. Such a game trains auditory attention, which is so necessary when learning to read.

  • gift for toy. We learn to identify the first letter in a word and develop imagination.

Celebrate your child's favorite toy. May her birthday be today. Invite the child to pick up a gift for the toy and draw it. The main condition of the game is that the first sound in the name of the gift is the same as the first sound in the name of the toy. For example, gifts for a doll begin only with the letter k: paints, xylophone, cubes. And for a bear - a ball, honey, a car. The more options the child names, the better.

A good tool in such a game will be pictures or cards with various objects depicted. Invite the child to pick up a gift and choose one of the ones shown in the picture.

Such a game helps to develop the ability to sound analysis of words, which is necessary when reading.

  • Finish it. We learn to complement the figures, develop attention and fine motor skills. For drawing, there are many options for games.

Drawing according to the model teaches the child to concentrate when working with signs, and also contributes to a better memorization of letters and the correct reproduction of words when reading.

Learn letters

An integral stage on the way to reading is the study of letters. And the more interesting and exciting this process will be, the faster the child will learn everything. To make the process of memorizing letters easy and productive, there are a few simple rules of pedagogy.

  • It will be easier for a child to remember a letter if he first draws it or molds it himself from plasticine. Also a great option would be to add letters from sticks, buttons, pebbles, etc.
  • It is important not to overload the children's memory and not try to remember more than two letters a day.
  • Learn letters by pronouncing their sound correctly. For example, the letter M is not pronounced with the sound "em", but with a short "m". Otherwise, the child will be confused when reading and pronounce syllables incorrectly.
  • Don't start learning capital letters while the child has not yet mastered all the printed ones.
  • To make it easier for the child to remember the letters, let him figure out what each of them looks like. For example, compare them with different subjects.

Learning to read by syllables

Currently, there are many educational literature for teaching preschoolers. And each parent chooses the most suitable and interesting option primer or alphabet for children who are just learning to read. They use various techniques for reading by syllables. Somewhere the option of stretching sounds is considered, and somewhere the transitions from letter to letter in the form of colorful pictures.

In fact, when reading, we no longer think and are not aware that all the syllables come naturally to us, because they are pronounced automatically. It is memorization that helps us read quickly and without hesitation. Therefore, the education of children should also be approached with the same goal. Each syllable must be pronounced several times, searched in words and pictures.

Reading the words

When the child masters and remembers the combination of syllables well, the reading of words begins. At this point, it is important to teach the child to understand the meaning of what is read. This is also facilitated by various puzzles and games with pictures.

Insert a letter

This game is very effective in the initial learning of word reading. It will require three pictures for three-letter words. For example: bow, house and cat. Sign the first and last letter under the pictures, and leave a space in place of the vowel. Have your child guess the missing letter in the word. Performing this task, he will reflect, and pick up letters in turn. Thus, in this game, the child learns meaningful reading, understands the semantic distinctive meaning of letters, and develops phonemic hearing.

picture with word

The most common word game. Often ready-made options are sold in the form of a lotto. It is easy to do it yourself by preparing pictures in advance and signing them. block letters the words. You need to cut the picture with the word in half so that the child can pick up the two halves of one picture.

finish the word

For this game, you will need several pictures from coloring pages or postcards. The initial syllables of words denoting the depicted objects are attached to the pictures on a paper clip. And the endings of the words must be put in front of the child, so that he himself chooses the appropriate ones from them.

A few more secrets useful tips about how to quickly and correctly teach a child to read, watch the video

When teaching a child to read, it is very important to give tasks in an easy, playful way in order to maintain interest. The main thing at the same time is not to overdo it with the load and select benefits according to the age and abilities of the baby. Always be patient and diligent, then your child will definitely be well prepared for school and learn to read quickly.

Don't expect your child to be taught everything by school. As the mother teaches the baby the first steps, so the basics of reading should be laid from the first years of life. You can’t start studying the alphabet in a “bare” place - instill a craving for literature in your child in advance, before he goes to first grade.

Start with speech development

Before learning to read, a child must learn to talk. And the correctness of speech development directly depends on their environment. The more intelligent the parents, the more attention they pay to the younger generation, the easier it is for the child to develop.

Starting the first communication with adults through cooing, gradually the baby tries to imitate the speech sounds that he hears daily. And if at first these are just separate syllables, then from the age of 2 normal development a child can operate with simple sentences.

Further - more, the baby goes to word forms. And the more actively the parents communicate with the child, the more talkative he will be (in good sense). The main help in the development of the baby's speech will be reading, i.e. books that adults will read aloud to their children.

Cultivate your child's interest in reading

Naturally, Small child cannot read on its own. But you can teach him to communicate with literature from the first years of life. It is children's books that form the right speech development baby. The more often the child sees the book in the hands of his parents, the more confidence he has in it, and the faster the desire to learn to read independently appears over time.

Reading should be turned into a kind of ritual - fairy tales, nursery rhymes, lullabies are best perceived before bedtime. The clearer and more correct the pronunciation of an adult during reading, with emotional coloring, the more memorable the phrases heard by the child will be.

And the clearer the baby will have visual images. And this will help in learning to read in the future. After all, what better baby thinks in images, the faster and easier he learns.

Benefits of family reading

And in the future, even magazines and books that are on the shelves (and not in the hands of parents) will be associated with positive emotions and attract the attention of the child. In other words, reading books to the baby instills a love of literature for life, giving impetus to the fastest learning to read independently.

In addition, reading for children contributes to their spiritual unity with their parents, bringing joy to everyone. And the child develops a sense of family comfort, which he associates with books. In a family where there is a cult of the book, children develop a craving for reading faster.

Read with children

The best way to prepare your child for independent reading is to read a book while sitting next to the baby. He must see the pages of the book on which the text is written. This will first allow you to visually get used to the letters that involve the world of the sacrament.

The first children's books are not in vain rich in colorful illustrations. With their help, you can perceive what you hear with the images drawn in the pictures. And when the child goes to first grade and begins to put letters into words, familiar phrases will already be perceived figuratively, which will make it easier and faster to learn to read.

While reading a fairy tale or nursery rhyme, try to drive your child's finger letter by letter so that the baby sees exactly which word you are reading. Visual memory in the future will help proper learning.

How to teach a child to read?

How earlier child will be ready for perception, the better - going to the 1st grade, he must master the basics of reading. Even if the baby goes to Kindergarten, where they are engaged with him according to a special technique, parents should also allocate time for joint classes.

How to properly approach the process itself so that learning is easy? It is impossible to teach children by force - everything should happen in a playful way. When choosing a methodology, the age at which training began should also be taken into account.

But in any case, you should not learn exactly the letters - you should start with the phonetic sound. It will be easier for the child to associate the written symbol with the sound that he is used to hearing.

Learning is easier if each lesson is repeated many times. From learning the sounds to reading the syllables, make sure your baby speaks clearly.

Stages of learning

- then comes the turn of deaf sounds;

Leave the sizzling for last.

  • Repeat each learned sound before you start learning the next one. "Repetition is the mother of learning" - this phrase should be the guiding thread of the entire learning process.
  • In parallel with the study of sounds, proceed to the formation of syllables (and the very first may be “ma”, which will be close and sincere to the child). Read the syllable with the baby, as if singing it. The child should have the feeling that the consonant sound, as it were, tends to the vowel. This will help to pronounce sounds in pairs.
  • Do not try to immediately form the learned syllables into words. Let the child first understand the very principle of combining vowels and consonants in pairs. Consolidate knowledge on simple syllables, gradually moving on to difficult to pronounce.
  • Having taught the child to compose syllables, where the consonant comes first, proceed to a more complex structure, where the vowel is in front (“om”, “ab”, etc.).
  • Having mastered the individual syllables, move the children to reading simple words. Start with those that consist of 2 syllables, then - 3 syllables. But the first words that the child will read should be familiar to him and associated with understandable images.

Correct pronunciation is the key to fast learning

Do you know how to teach a child to read quickly? Let him sing each sound, syllable, but do it clearly. When you move on to the pronunciation of words, at first the syllables should be sung separately, with each subsequent time reducing the gaps between them. And in the end, the whole word must be sung in one breath.

But so that reading in children is not associated only with singing, the consolidation of the material should take place already in normal pronunciation, with a clear pronunciation of sounds. At the same time, when you move on to reading sentences, teach your child to make the correct pauses before punctuation marks.

When is the best time to start training?

At what age should children be able to read, many parents ask. This, first of all, depends on how psychologically prepared the child is for learning. But it should definitely be said that studies should not begin immediately before school, when children are going to the 1st grade.

Children can begin to learn at the age of 3 years, if the child himself expresses a desire to do so. But forcibly seating them behind books is not worth it - this can discourage the desire for subsequent training.

The most optimal receptive age to prepare for 1st grade is 5 years. And in parallel with reading, children should be taught writing (so far only in block letters), which will help them consolidate their reading skills.

How to understand that the child is ready?

To understand how to teach a child to read, you should first decide whether the baby is ready for such learning. To do this, first test the degree of development of the child.

Training according to the Nikitin method

The classics of domestic education, the wife of Nikitina, completely departed from the traditional principles of education, instead putting forward their own. They believe that in the classroom children should be given complete freedom of creativity. Only then will they have an interest in learning.

Do not limit the independence of children - they must do all the work themselves. The third rule is the combination of mental activities with physical exercises (i.e. learning in a playful way).

Involve your child in joint activities - for example, you can prepare workbooks for classes together. And then the baby will perceive the material easier and faster. But the main incentive for successful learning is praise for even the smallest victory. And you should never focus on mistakes.

Here are the basic principles by which the Nikitins taught their children (and they can be applied both to children of 3 years old, and 5, and 7):

  • It is impossible to impose a certain training program on a child - he himself chooses in the form of which game he is more interested in.
  • You don't have to explain the game to your child. Dress your studies in a fairy tale, where each participant has their own roles.
  • At the first stages of the game-learning, adults are active participants. In the future, when the child gets comfortable, he will be able to continue classes on his own.
  • Before a learning baby, you always need to unobtrusively set tasks that will become more complicated at each new stage.
  • Do not dare to prompt the child - teach him to think for himself.
  • If the child finds it difficult to cope with a new task, do not force him - take a step back and repeat the past.
  • If you notice that the child has lost interest in the game, or the limit of his abilities has come (temporary), stop learning for a while. Return to school when the baby asks. And he will definitely do it, because. all children love to play.

Nikolai Zaytsev - an innovator of education

Traditional training on the principle of "phonemic-verbal" enslaves the freedom of speech of the trained child and forms complexes in him, slowing down development - this is what the teacher Nikolai Zaitsev thinks.

He developed his own unique technique, more like a game than a lesson. Children move freely around the classroom (room). At the same time, they can jump, run, etc. master educational material can be in any position - in motion or sitting, lying down. And it should start earlier - from about 3 years old.

All manuals are placed on the walls, boards, cabinets, tables. Usually this is a set of cubes made of cardboard. They are different sizes and various colours. On some faces, single letters are depicted, on others - syllables (both simple and complex), on the third - consonants with a soft or hard sign.

Previously, the cubes can be in the form of blanks that the teacher glues together with the children. In this case, special fillers should be placed inside:

  • it is better to put sticks (wooden and plastic) in cubes with deaf sounds;
  • metal bottle caps are suitable for ringing sounds;
  • bells will hide inside the cubes with vowel sounds.

The cubes must be different in size (both single and double). For soft warehouses - small, for hard - large. Color solutions also play a certain role here - each warehouse has its own shade.

In addition to cubes, tables are also used as benefits, where all known warehouses are collected. This allows the child to see the entire volume to be studied. And it makes the job of a teacher much easier.

Another point that makes reading easy enough is writing. It must run in parallel. Before voicing the studied sounds (not letters), the child himself must learn to translate them into signs. You can do this in various ways: drive on a sheet of paper with a pencil, on a table with a pointer, or by laying out cubes.

Various teaching methods

Among teachers, there are constant disputes about how to properly teach a child to read, what method to use in this case. And there are quite a lot of them, and each has both its fans and opponents.

For example, the motto of Masaru Ibuki in education is the well-known phrase "After 3 years it's too late." The Japanese educator bases his methodology on the belief that the most receptive to learning children under the age of 3 years, on the period of formation of brain cells.

Akin to the technique of Pavel Tyulenev, who created his own system "Mir". Its main idea is to have time to reveal the potential of the child. The teacher believes that one should start from the first minutes of birth. In his opinion, children can learn to read and write before they start walking.

But no matter what methods of teaching a child are developed (according to Montessori, Froebel, Lupan, etc.), all teachers agree on one thing - learning should take the form of a game and be based on love for children. Knowing how to teach a child to read quickly, you will succeed.
